I was able to drop it in without having to wind it on the original spools, which is good because I only have one. Working well so far. Added an image of the spool with ruler. Millimeters on top, inches on the bottom.

I have a Smith Corona typewriter. The spools on it are smaller than these and do not fit, so I took the old ribbon off the old spools and wound the new ribbon onto the old spools. A bit tedious, but effective. I am not certain if it is my typewriter (as I got it second hand) or if the ribbon should have more ink, but I have to press hard to get a clear letter out of the new ribbon. If I give it a half-hearted try, the letter is light. Overall for the price and my purposes, it does the trick.

Installed two of these on Olympia typewriters. Would be perfect if they came on metal spools. If you have old metal spools, don't throw them away when you put these ones on. The ribbons can be re-spooled on to the metal ones if you have them and the metal spools are probably worth more than your typewriter these days.

This nylon ribbon fits perfectly. The first time I ordered one pack only just to test it out and was delighted with it so I ordered 5 more. After that I ordered the last package in stock but shortly after I discovered they restock this product so I ordered 6 more. If anyone has been searching for this for a long time would understand why. This is legit company, I went online to search the company and the product number just to be sure it fits. The price is not bad. If anyone is wondering the fit, go to this company's website and do a product search.
