Spigen Tough Armor [Extreme Protection Tech] Designed for iPhone 12 / Designed for iPhone 12 Pro Case (2020) - Navy Blue

I am incredibly clumsy with my phone, probably more so than anyone I know. My iPhone is dropped daily. Off the desk, down the stairs, on concrete, you name it. Having a super durable phone case is my absolute number 1 priority. For years. I had the mid level Otterboxes. (I didn’t like the screen to be covered). I probably had 8 of them over the years. I broke every single one of them. The phone typically stayed intact, but I still had 2-3 cracked screens in 6 years. I was buying a new case at least every other year. The Otterboxes are also like 3x more than this case!I was suspicious at first, how can a cheap case be so good, but wow, am I impressed. This is now my second Spigen case, only because I got a differently sized phone. It’s been over a year on my iPhone 12 and while it does have some nicks and dings in the plastic, it’s not noticeable to anyone else because it’s so minor. This case is STURDY. I don’t use the kickstand because I have a PopSocket. The kickstand, while a cool feature, looks a tad flimsy but I can’t accurately comment on it.I will absolutely continue to buy this case over and over again and have recommended it to everyone. It’s pretty thin too. I believe thinner than my Otterboxes were. But most importantly, it’s protected the phone perfectly! it has a slightly raised edge so when it falls face down, the ground hits the case, not the screen. I cannot highly recommend this phone case enough. I do wish it came in more fun designs, I have the black, but it’s non-descript enough and looks pretty chic. I don’t have any problems with the color chipping since it’s not one of the metallic ones. It supports wireless charging (though not with my PopSocket) and the case can be taken off and put on easily. I wouldn’t recommend doing it daily or anything though. The phones ports and speakers are not covered, so sometimes my phone ports get dirty. I do a lot of gardening with my phone laying next to me on the ground so dirt gets up there, but when I take the phone case off, there’s never dirt in the back of the case, unlike my Otterboxes which got crumbs in there. This one has a tight seal around the phone. (FYI: Apple will dust out your iPhone ports for free at an Apple Store any time!)10/10 would purchase this case if you’re looking for durability and protection! (Bonus points for the great price!)

I really like this case. It has a good, sturdy feel in your hands and it aesthically pleasing to the eye. My iPhone 12 fit perfectly.

This is the 4th version of this case that I have bought. I bought this same version for my iPhone 8, iPhone XS, iPhone 11 Pro, and now my iPhone 12 Pro. These are excellent cases and I’m a contractor so my phone sees some harsh conditions. This is not like a LifeProof case so not water proof or dust proof, but it does protect the phone very well. Only real gripe is the raised rim around the screen can make certain swiping gestures a challenge but a solution I have found that should be done anyways is buy a glass screen protector. A glass screen protector (not one of this e thin plastic film protectors) is thick enough that it compensates for the raised rim of the case and makes swiping gestures a breeze! This case doesn’t have a built in screen protector so the case, plus a glass screen protector makes for a very well protected phone! I used to use LifeProof cases for the water proof features but now that iPhones are very water resistant, that was as big of a deal to need to buy such an expensive case. These Spigen cases are actually more durable than the LifeProof cases were. You can buy with confidence! Plus the little kick stand is a handy feature sometimes to watch something on the phone without having to just hold it! But the kickstand is only good for landscape view, it won’t work for holding the phone straight up and down which is a little disappointing but not a big enough deal to get upset over.

I purchased this phone case in 2020. I have dropped my phone way too many times and from high places such as in top of an SUV. Never any issue. I have a glass screen protector as well and never a broken phone. 4 years later I am buying the same case only because the kickstand broke. It was open when the phone fell out of my hand onto concrete and snapped off. I use the kickstand everyday to watch tv while I cook. Very strong and reliable case!

I had this case in Gunmetal color on my iPhone XR and loved it. When I got my 12 I knew I wanted the same case so I bought another, this time in blue to match my phone. My opinion was that the hard plastic shell on the blue case was very slippery, however. More slippery than my old case and definitely too slippery for me so, bummed, I returned it. I contacted Spigen CS and they told me that yes, some colors are more slick than others due to the gloss, or not, finish of the shell. They said the Gunmetal was still a matte/flat finish, not glossy like the blue, and isn't as slick - so I gave it a try. They were right, imho the Gunmetal is much less slick than the blue and much better for me. I can't answer re the other colors. I have a blue iPhone 12 that this case will cover up but protection is much more important to me than color.That all said, this is a very sturdy and rugged (looks too) case at a very good price. It's not a thin case by any means but it's also not real bulky yet still protects well. Fit is great, speaker, lens, mic, cutouts are well done. The silence switch is a little hard to reach, as expected but overall buttons work good. It's a good compromise and value for those that are rough on their phones.

I have a spiegen for my old se it outlasted two phones and many many drops. This new version looks better and has the same or better protection. It’s also nice that it’s not overly bulky and easy to hold. This case is the right balance of protection, style, and safety
