My own bird without the cost and hassle of a real one.
This is so cute. I love it. Bought for my self, not a child or friend. I always wanted a bird, but not the hassle and expense of having a real bird. And this is perfect. Some say the noise is loud, but it does not bother me. Once I put it together I video taped it and sent the video to family and friends, and they love it. Even wanted one of their own. Only problem I have is directions and putting it together. At first I thought the product was defective because could never get the bird to move, but after some time, and several tries, finally got it to work. Legs are very fragile and does not easily stay on perch, especially once you get the top of the cage on. But finally turned bird upside down, pushed upward very hard on the round circle part of the legs, then very firmly pushed the legs down in the slots, and gently put the top of the cage on it worked. I also added some of my own decorations and a additional small bird on the inside of the cage. I love it and recommend it.

Perfect for my cosplay
Well, you can’t really see it there, but it’s chirping and moving around in that cage on my back (I didn’t attach the cage portion). It really added to my costume. People were delighted to notice the animatronic, singing bird. I didn’t like that I couldn’t turn the sound off but keep the motion, but I ended up enjoying the chirping. It really made me stand out in a crowded elevator, when the doors shut out the din of the convention and we all stood in silence save an animated bird chirping. The paint job is pretty terrible. It was good enough in a pinch, hidden within a big cage with bells and the whole costume, but it’s laughable if you really look at it. Honestly though, it’s better than to be expected for the price. But I’m going to repaint the base as well as the cage, then see if i can’t turn it into a steampunk hat. Just pray with me that it doesn’t break before I’m done. But...if it does, we had a good run together, and maybe the new paint will make it cool even without the motion and chirps.

Doesn't work
I bought for my daughters birthday. The bird came broken, doesn't move. Because I was holding it as a gift, the return window has closed so I'm stuck with a broken gift for my kid. Not happy.

Sweet little gift
This was a gift for my 91 year old mother who is in memory care. She wanted a bird for a pet but could not take care of one. This little bird seems real to her and she proudly shows off her new pet to the other residents. It was a little challenging to put the cage together. I did tape all the connection points to give it extra protection from her taking it apart. The bird itself works well after pushing it a little harder than I thought would be necessary into the round connectors. No volume control, so I put two layers of heavy tape over the speaker to lower the sound. All in all, a good gift for the money that gives a lot of pleasure to my mother at at time when very little else does.

Does not move
I bought it for an activity and it does not move I’ve tried to do everything I could and it doesn’t work it only makes sounds the sounds have a pretty good quality to it but overall the cage is not hard to build and the bird is very pretty.

Great buy!!!
It was pretty loud but what bird isn't? Looks exactly like pictured. Bought for my seven year old brother because he's obsessed with birds but obviously can't have one for a pet and he thought this was the greatest thing in the world! It reacts to sound but there is an off switch on the bottom if it gets annoying. Overall its great!!!

100 year old Mother with Alzheimer LOVES "her birdy."
This is smaller than I thought it would be and involved putting the cage together. Putting things together is usually a problem for me but this was easy. The bird hasn't moved as it was supposed to and the bird is very big relative to the size of the cage BUT my 100 year old Alzheimer and bed-ridden mother LOVES IT. The sound is loud (no volume button)but realistic and includes the bird calls as well as the sound of a babbling brook. I think a small child might break it...pulling the cage apart easily. But I found the perfect place for it...elderly Alzheimer patients. It IS sound activated and plays if you bump it. You may want to turn it off while the patient is sleeping. For a birdlover who can't see the real thing anymore, it's PERFECT!

Sorry, Not a good purchase for me
Extremely fragile, snaps together. No volume control, atrociously LOUD. Delightfully colorful. Mechanics are amazingly entertaining. Only recommended for aging hearing impaired individuals but not pets or children.
