Q: What exactly is the point of this?

It's extra flamingos for the Trailer Park Wars game. I would highly recommend the extra flamingos!!!

Q: How wide at the widest point is one of the mini flamingos?

I used these in August at a Flamingo back-yard party. I don't have any left, but I can tell you that they are small (but very cute). One of the ladies put her mini flamingos on a pierced earring wire and they made an adorable pair of earrings, which she wore to the party. They are small, like game-board size, only guessing at this point, but maybe 1/2 or maybe a little less. Hope I helped you.
