Owl Christmas Stocking
Be careful lining up the pattern between pages. It would be nice if several lines were repeated but greyed out showing the alignment between pages. But the stocking is colorful, attractive, and not too complicated.

Pictures don't portray how adorable it is
I'm an experienced sewer and have made a lot of these stockings. This is the first time I used this brand. The design is adorable. The instructions easy to understand. I loved how the thread was organized. I gave it 4 stars due to the quality of the blue felt which is the base and the back of the stocking It is thin and really should be thicker and heavier to support the needlework. I always line my stockings with a quality cotton lining to prevent stretch and wear on the stocking. If you don't line it and put anything inside with some weight, over time the back would definitely wear out. I've got stockings that are almost 40 years old and still look great. That's what you hope for after going through all this work. If the quality of the felt does not improve, lining in a must to protect your time investment. Will definitely buy another kit from this brand.

Just beautiful
The media could not be loaded. It took me 2 months to complete the stocking and I really enjoyed the process. The scheme was easy to read and the threads were of a good quality. It came with two needles: for cross-stitch and for backstitch or couching. Also in this kit they give you a white felt for a back side of the stocking. But I used a nicer velvet fabric for the back and cotton one for the inner lining instead. And I put felt in between of them (like sandwich), so the stocking would be sturdier. I liked the result. It was a gift to my husband and he thought it's beautiful, too.

Beautiful, heirloom stocking!
As you can see, I haven’t finished putting this together, but thought I’d share what I have so far. I loved the pattern, but did make several adjustments. I added three little birds at the bottom because I felt it was a bit blank down there. I took out the snow on the deer and fox and I like that more vibrant look better. I used mill hill beads on the snowman’s buttons and slimmed down the fox’s front paws, which looked unusually large, by one row of stitches. I filled in all the white with white thread I already had-I think this looks better and gives it a more finished look. I’ve been stitching for 50 years and this took me 4 months. My grandsons name is Fox, as you can see, so this was a no brainer. He loves it. I’m waiting till I finish another and then I’ll complete them at the same time-that’s the part I do not like!! I had enough floss but you can’t be ripping out stitches and running your thread all over in the back because with a couple colors it was a little too close!

Cute but smaller than I anticipated.
I normally do cross stitch and found needlepoint to be okay. The stamped on pattern wasn’t the easiest thing to get used to. I found the stamped on pattern colors to be fuzzy in certain areas, for my aged eyes. Also, I still can’t figure out how to blend the stitches, especially when it will have a back stitched outline. The patterns are cute as a button. The finished stockings are quite a bit smaller than I wanted. Santa couldn’t put much into them. I selected my own backs, hanging loop and put in liners. The felt was adequate but I did not feel it would stand the test of time. My sons cross stitch stockings are 30+ years old, much larger and still look fabulous. Picture shows size differences.I was able to complete the penguin stocking in less than 3 weeks. It felt like I was at it 24/7 but I had a pre-Thanksgiving deadline line to allow time for it to be sewn into a stocking before Xmas.I would use this brand again. I will try to enlarge the next one on my own and use my same modifications to finish it.One other thing, you can’t run to the store to match their thread. You must call them to get additional thread. I know this because I needed more of a blue/black color for back stitching and couldn’t find it.

Nice pattern
Easy pattern to follow and didn’t take too long to make. I’ve made many cross stitch Christmas stockings and this was one of the nicest patterns to read and easy to follow and complete.

Unique and quality kit
I have had my eye on this pattern/kit for a while now and and thrilled to make this for my daughter-in-law. I've made several Christmas Stockings before, but this one is so beautiful and unique! The pattern is easy to read and well explained, and the cloth and thread are good quality. I've just begun it and look forward to working on it and of course, the end result!

So cute!
This kit comes with everything you need! It took a long time but definitely worth it for such a cute stocking. The pattern and instructions were easy to follow. My only concern is the durability of the felt used for the back of the stocking. I expect I will eventually have to replace it with a stronger fabric.

Lovely colours
I am enjoying making this stocking. Love the colours but silk quality not easy to work with.
