I've only had this set for a few weeks and I have used all pieces except of the scissors and I love it so far. I just wiped them off when I took them out of the box. All the knives are very sharp and they all have good balance to them. i have them sitting on my kitchen counter and I get good compliments about the display. I paid for this great set less than the wooden knife block that I was looking for. I would recommend this set for any home cook

These knives are incredibly beautiful and they sliced through the giant chicken breasts that I like to cook like they were butter. Also the design is very modern and trendy. Well worth the purchase.

As a stay at home mom and the household chef, user friendly, reliable products are a necessity in the kitchen. I was given the opportunity to test and review the Imperial Collection Non Stick Coating Stainless Steel Knife Set. The set includes a cleaver (18cm), a santoku knife (18cm), a utility knife (12.5cm), scissors, and a peeler. Also included is an acrylic knife block.Upon opening the box, I noticed that the packaging was very neat and secure. Each knife blade was secured with a plastic tip and a cardboard sleeve. With my daunting clumsiness, this prevented me from slicing my finger. Everything looked clean and untouched. Each item in the knife set appears to be made of high quality material. The color combination and design of the product is modern and elegant. Included is a care and use card which offers just the right amount of details as to how to care for the knives and which surfaces to use them on. The care and use card reminds the user that the knives are very sharp, to store out of the reach of children, to use wooden or plastic cutting boards, and to sharpen the blades regularly. These are adequate instructions for a knife set. The pictures on the box show how to assemble the product.Now let’s talk about the functionality of this set. First up was the peeler. I am quite keen to my stainless steel peeler so I was not that interested in the plastic peeler. I peeled a carrot and a potato. The peeler did not impress. One of the plastic blades broke when peeling the potato. The peeler worked but it took a lot of effort, more effort than my stainless steel peeler. I would not recommend the peeler. The knives and scissors on the other hand did impress.The knives themselves are beautiful. The black and red color combination with the black and silver blade make the set very attractive. They seem well made, strong, and sharp, very sharp. My favorite part about the knives is they don’t stick. I cut up the same potato and carrot I had peeled and the blades sliced right though the vegetables without the pieces sticking to the blade. The cleaver can chop large pieces or it can cut tiny slices. The santoku knife worked well for dicing up onions as well as the carrot and potato. The utility knife can be used for almost anything. It also cut up the vegetables easily and precisely. The scissors function as highest quality kitchen scissors do. Each product in this set offers a smooth comfortable grip. While the larger knives are heavy, they feel comfortable in your hand and are easy to use.Last but not least is the acrylic knife block. I have only had the product for a couple of days but the plastic knife block seems to be doing its job well. The knives fit perfectly and the whole product looks clean and high quality. I have always used a wood knife block in the past. Wood blocks are typically hard to clean and tend to mold or grow bacteria. The knife block included in this set is easy to clean, as are the other items.In summary, I would recommend the Imperial Collection six-piece stainless steel knife set. I rate it at 4.5/5 stars. The included product pamphlet shows the different knife sets offered by Imperial Collection with the prices noted in Euros. According to the pamphlet, this particular set sells for 159 Euros which would translate to about $181 USD; however, I found this product on Amazon Prime for $24.95. This product would be worth the higher dollar amount as it is good quality and functional. The kitchen is my domain usually. But when it comes to knives my husband gets involved. He used to own a restaurant and he did the cooking (not at home). So he has something to say about any knife or kitchen tool I purchase.We recently purchased this Imperial Collection six piece knife set. It is an impressive set to look at.It comes with a funky acrylic stand for your counter. The stand holds the three knives, the peeler and the scissor. It is an attractive stand and one I would display.As for the knives. They passed by husbands test. We just celebrated a holiday in our house and it including lots of cooking and chopping. So my husband helped. He and I both used the three knives to make about ten different dishes to serve over two nights. He taught me how to judge the quality of a knife. Not only does it have to be sharp and cut easily which these knives do, but after using the knives for lots of chopping your joint in your hand should not hurt. He learned years ago at work when you use poor quality knives after lots of use your joint hurts. A good knife is well constructed and doesn't hurt to use.Well these knives passed the test. I used the Santoku and utility knives and he mainly used the cleaver (cleaver scares me a bit) but they all passed his quality test. We could tell they were well made - I especially liked the grips on the handles. They were so easy to hold on to and made chopping a breeze.I also like that they are made of stainless steel and feel so solid in my hand. The only piece of this set that didn't wow me was the peeler. I might be a peeler snob. I use a peeler I purchased years ago from a home sales company and nothing can compete with it. So maybe I am expecting too much? But the peeler is good just not great.Overall this set is impressive and a very nice addition to our kitchen.I received this imperial knife collection at a discount in exchange for my honest review.
