Haven't had it go off yet but tested it and it works. Put it in my heater closet for piece of mind.

I purchased this a little over a year ago. At first, it worked fine. I needed to get an extension cord to install it near the ceiling but there were no other complaints. Recently, however, it seems to be going off randomly. No gas appliances will be in use, the detector will go off for a few minutes then stop. I am not sure if it is an "end of life" issue or if it has always been an issue, but it happened to be when I wasn't home so I didn't know until now. Either way, it should las longer than it has so I would not recommend it.

Bought two of these — one for near the propane furnace and one for the propane cook range. Both would randomly beep and go into alert at different times and totally freaked us out and caused us to shut down the propane. The fuel company came and found no leaks. These are not reliable. Paid $40 and they are now in the trash.

Cannot recommend enough. We were out of town for a long weekend, when we returned home our gas detector was beeping loudly. We went to check and it showed a gas level of “3” (out of 9). We called the gas company, who came to to check for a gas leak. Sure enough, they found a leak in our basement!Very thankful for this product!

I assume this works to some extent, though I haven't fully tested it. I no longer use it because the alarm will sound randomly, even without any source of gas/CO present. Unless someone is secretly piping propane gas into my house, there are too many false-positives for this to be useable.

1st test gas from a lighter. Worked fine. 2nd test (crazy I know) Plugged in 1 foot from the floor, 8 foot from the stove in plain view, line of sight. Turn gas on the stove (no fire). 5 min, no alert, 10 min then 15 min and finally 20min. No alert. The kitchen smelled of gas, big time. Then open windows in the house and the front door and left that area. Then tried the gas test again with a lighter and it worked. I really wanted this to work so I could be reassured in case of a gas leak. I sent it back for a refund.

I ordered this bc I kept smelling a faint hint of gas, so I plugged in near the source where I smelt the smell, and we found out we did have a small leak, and it DID NOT beep or anything to give us a warming
