Selected Poems of John Donne (Penguin Classics)

This is an excellent selection of Donne's poems. I haven't read Donne in many years, and I'm overwhelmed by his greatness. Stunning. Everyone who considers him/her/their selves to be a poet today should be immersed in this supremely great poet.

This is hardly an enjoyable read. However, if you must write an essay on a poem, you can deconstruct any of these poems into a very lengthy and thorough essay very easily--unless you pick one of the many extremely ambiguous ones.

This required reading in poetry.

If you like John Donne's poetry, as I do, you will enjoy this magnificent collection of not only his more famous poems, but many really enjoyable ones which I have never come across before.

An interesting and informative edition. Excellent notes are included and the introduction throws light on Donne's poetry and offers an insight into his life and times.
