First our Chairman and CEO of our company read this book; then passed it down to the Division Managers who read and discussed the book; they in-turn passed it down to everyone in their business units where 90% have read the book and the other 10% is almost finished. We have had discussions around how the book can help us be a better company as a whole and individually discussed what we liked most about the book.Personally, it has helped me tremendously communicating with my boss and colleagues. We will all continue our discussions on how to think differently about accountability and how to apply it in our everyday business and personal lives. This book is a easy read - you can read it in about 1 1/2 to 2 hours and you should!!!!

This book can give you the framework for a much more productive and communicative culture, work or home. It helps to show how accountability isn't a negative or euphemism for "blame". Rather it explain how specificity can unlock productivity and communication in an organization.

Excellent, worthwhile read! Highly recommended!
This is truly a worthwhile read for anyone within an organization who wishes to effect change within their organization. It reads very quickly in under 90 minutes, as advertised, and provides instructions that, if followed, would surely improve the efficiency and accountability within any organization. Even those who are not at the highest echelons of an organization or even in a "leadership" position could benefit from the suggestions. I look forward to implementing the many worthwhile suggestions in this book!

Quick, surface level approach to an important subject
Accountability is an important principle, so time spent reading a book dedicated to the subject should be time well spent. However, this is one of the worst business / motivation books I’ve read, and the only reason I finished it was because I was reading it for a book club. This feels like a first draft, stream-of-consciousness book. There’s an entire chapter about specifying time zones, with several examples. Behavioral modeling is defined as passively hoping that inappropriate workplace behavior stops on its own simply by ensuring you aren’t engaging in it (actually talking to the offending employees is discouraged). It is not a well-written text; it's filled with poorly constructed sentences, definitions, and ideas. But most notably, there is no mention in this short book of the importance of personal accountability—of making and keeping commitments to oneself. The concept of personal, private accountability is entirely overlooked, and we are admonished only to keep outward commitments and use accountability partner to hold us to our word.If you believe in the Seven Habits and the importance of an “inside-out” approach to life and leadership, you may want to look elsewhere for a meaningful, actionable book. This one has a few good reminders about making specific commitments, but avoids the fundamental steps of truly being accountable.
