Q: Can i use steak saver adapter so it work to attach 20lb tank this with small portable bbq grill (that take little 1lb green one)?

i don't think so it would run out out fuel quick a 1lb would only work a few minutes time you heat up the area on high you'll be out of fuel with the big tank 20 lb you can put the unit on low and it will keep you warm it takes the chill out of the air

It worked good on my 20,000 btu Mr heater ,but u might want to go with a two stage pressure reducer with ur 30,000 & I also did everything on the instructions with my Mr heater

Q: what is the purpose of a "low pressure" hose like this versus other basic adapter hoses?

low pressure hose is used on the regulated end of the. "low pressure "regulator or step-down regulator but also that is the right hose for the job its resistant to certain gases and chemicals. it's also not as low pressure as you think. it more than fits the purpose of a propane grill or heater. but always check your specs.
