Q: Is this a course perlite through out the bag? I'm sick of spending money on a "quality" product only to find the bottom half of the bag is useless dus

I have purchased this item twice in the past year and both times I was satisfied with the product. There was dust present in the bag but it was minimul and I didn't really notice it until I started mixing it with the coir.

Q: Is this ok used with carniverous plants like the venus flytrap?

It’s fine for my succulents and cactus, I have tropical and desert plants. I don’t have Venus fly traps but Perlite is neutral pH and basically just helps make your current soil a little more gritty and well draining. I mix in more or less depending on the type of plants I have. It’s dusty so wear a mask before pouring it to mix in with your current soil. Hope this helps.

Q: Does it need to be rinsed?

I didn’t rinse it. It has nothing written on the package saying to rinse.

Q: What size is this - small, medium, or large?

this 8 QT size is a medium size but it has lasted me almost all summer. I pot and repot a lot of plants and use a mixture of perlite and potting mixture and most of the potting mixtures I buy already have perlite in it but I like the soil to drain good so I add more. This bag will last you a good while. HAPPY POTTING !!
