Good quality quilting pins at a good cost
If you've never worked with curved pins, getting the hang of handling them (especially one-handed) can be a trick. These Dritz pins are sturdy, well-made, sharp, and they open and close relatively easily. With the method I initially used for this, I rubbed a blister into one finger that first day (because I basted a crib-sized quilt at 3-inch intervals), but it quickly calloused and was no problem for continuing with the use of these pins. I will probably also get better at using them with time too...so I don't hold this against the pins. :)I think the value was good for what I got, and I'll be using these for many years. It's so nice not to use straight pins any more, as I lap quilt and would end up with a good number of jabs and lost pins before I got these. These curved pins made basting go about twice as fast, because I could essentially "scoop" the pin through the layers, and kept everything in place as I did my rough and fine hoop-based quilting.

A must have for basting a quilt
Never again will I use straight safety pins for basting. I purchased these to use with Paula Jean Creations Quilters Delight Safety Pin covers and they worked perfectly together. Paired with the Paula Jean Creations Kwik Klip and basting my last quilt was actually fun! These should provide many years of reliably sturdy use.

Great Value for So Many Pins!
These are ultimately necessary for quilting and it was nice to find so many in the box at such a good price.

Great for making a quilt sandwhich
Worked great to baste a large quilt. Made it much easier to baste on a wood floor where I had a slippery surface for the pins to glide on. However, if you have to baste on a carpeted floor, these may not work for you. I only did that once, but the pins got stuck to the carpet and I had to take multiple ones out and re-pin. Since I don't like to baste on carpet anyways (hard to get everything straight) I still gave this 5 stars. Love these pins.

Perfect for quilt basting
These pins are perfect for basting the layers of a quilt. I recently bought safety pins from Hobby Lobby that were so dull I struggled to get them through the layers of the quilt. I used all 300 of these Dritz, size 1, and there was only one out of 300 that didn’t glide right through. The #1 size is perfect — sturdy enough without being too large.I’m a happy quilter!

Excellent quality really sharp and no duds
These are really good quality - really sharp and heads close easily. They go through the fabric easily and every one I’ve used had a really shaped point. I like the size too, not to small which can be fiddle and not too big to be bulky and damage the fabric.I mention these things as I bought another brand on amazon and half the box I had to throw away as they were blunt and the heads were tight so difficult to close. Not with these though they are excellent quality and well worth the money.
