These books are excellent.

I purchased the 5th grade book last year and noticed definite improvements in my son's reading comprehension. The stories are short and the questions testing comprehension aren't verbatim to the content, so he has to THINK about the answers.We are in the 6th grade book now and it's a little harder; he is struggling, but he is learning. I would recommend these books if you have a child that doesn't like to read a lot and can only stay focused for short periods. Works for us!

I'm a grade six English teacher. My students really enjoy the stories in these books (we use the grade 5 edition as well). They're CC aligned and perfect for homework assignments.

It's decent for a learning book, and the stories are somewhat interesting. I expected the stories to be a little longer or at a higher level for 6th graders... but it does get the job done. My biggest problem with this book is: I expected better grammar.

I really appreciate these reading skill workbooks. The lessons aren't too long and easy to review for the kids....

I love this book and my kids also love the book. I use different grades in this book. They always get this one first when its the day we work on reading.

My sons 4th grade Philly inner city public school has more difficult reading comp assignments. Maybe it’s my sons school??

Great idea, good lessons, but unfortunately the educational stories and especially the images in the book for a 6th grader are a bit too childish. If using this book for bilingual teaching it passes.
