World of Warcraft: Ultimate Visual Guide, Updated and Expanded Hardcover – May 3, 2016

The book contains beautiful artwork as well as simplified information about the Lore of World of Warcraft. But because the book is simplified, the information does not specify details of information such as the novels does with Arthas' childhood and his horse Invincible or how Illidan truly felt when Tyrande chose Malfurion over him. I guess you could say that this book is just for people who are new to the Lore of World of Warcraft and who wants to get a brief summary of it in just 200 pages rather than thousands whether it be in the books or in-game content. I love the visuals the book contains which is a mix of the concept art, the World of Warcraft comic book's art, in-game art and etc. The books contents is categorized as:1) Introduction2) The Chronicles of Azeroth3) The Alliance4) The Horde5) The Pandaren6) Heroes and Villains7) Behind the ScenesNow the book's information isn't just about the MMO version of Warcraft but also the previous games about it. Although I have yet to finish reading the book, my favorite part so far has to deal with the Chronicles of Azeroth because of how the book explains the timeline as well as the important figures within that timeline such as the Titans and Sargeras, the Burning Legion, Ner'zhul and the War of the Ancients. Unfortunately, there is little information about the Old gods which is to be expected considering that they are still a mystery in the Lore.The design of the book is magnificent because of the hard cover and a removable book cover to have the cover of the book just show the design of the cover without any text. Just see the picture of the product and imagine it without having the title as well as the text in the bottom. Although the book still has the publisher in the back as well as the barcode but that's alright I guess.Overall the book deserves a 9.5/10 and 5/5 for the moment. Perhaps I'll come back to edit it when I finish reading the book.

First off let me start by saying I am not a real WOW player (as my girlfriend says). I bought this for her as she is really into WOW. But I will say this guide is awesome. I really like the artwork and think the character designs and having some background and history as to the characters, classes, and lands is cool. It helps me understand it all.I have always been a fan of the idea and like the older WarCraft games. I still go back a play Reign of Chaos and Frozen Throne.If you know a WOW fan, I think this is a done deal and here at Amazon it was half price for me compared to our local book store.

I saw this new Visual Guide for pre-order and I didn't want to get it. Well, I did want to get it but there was really no reason to. I had torn myself away from WoW about 2 years ago after countless hours of questing and raiding. I thought I had left it all behind. I don't know why I bought this... Or even when... But it arrived and it was glorious.The artwork is incredible and the guide does a great job of showing the who's, what's, and why's of WoW. It won't make you play better but I have an even greater appreciation of how Blizzard has created this incredible lore and history that has lasted through the years. It is a beautiful book and, even though I didn't want to, I am glad that I purchased this.

I really like this book; I have just started to buy visual novels, guides, etc. about games that I like. This is the third one and the book is great; it does have a lot of information of Warcraft world, which brings me back many memories (I stopped playing one month after Pandarian for a massive lack of time).The content is very good and I would buy it twice without doubt.My only complaint is the packing, the box did not have enough air bags and the cover got a slight damaged but the product is awesome.

If you're a WoW nerd for lore like me, you MUST have this in your collection along with the Chronicles!

As most of the reviews here have stated, this is a great resource for all levels of WoW-lore-ites. For those new to the game, this guide does an *excellent* job of filling in the details you may have missed while grinding to 90. For vets, most of the material will be familiar, though some of the more esoteric parts of WoW lore are filled in nicely. The art in the book is gorgeous and can stand on its own. The book is a bit on the large side, which I find to bit cumbersome at times, but it's definitely something fun to have in my library.If you're new to WoW, I would strongly suggest buying this so you can get up-to-speed on what has become an extremely robust lore library over 8+ years. If you're a vet, you'll enjoy this as a sort of stroll down memory lane, and might find it even motivates you to go solo some of those old raids just for the memories.

Personally, I liked this book and enjoyed almost every bit. But the main problem with a book about a constantly changing game is that it gets out of date fast. This book was published in 2016, right before Legion. This means that it contains practically no information on the events of Legion whatsoever. For some strange reason, the events of the Burning Crusade are also mostly omitted. The book is nice to look at, but some parts of it can seem a little low quality (the images of characters that are just screenshots look terrible compared to the artwork some characters have). Also, some pictures in the book are out of date with the rest of the book itself, most notably Page 14-15, with the Horde and Alliance Leaders pictured. Since this was probably drawn before Cataclysm, the worgen and goblin leaders are not shown (nor are the pandaren representatives for the factions, but they don't matter as much). Get this book if you like the feeling of paper in your hand and want to look and some great artwork; if you want a consistently up to date source of info, then stick to Wowpedia.
