Poor Instructions. Looks and works great once installed
Once drilled into the plastic using the pilot holes on the back-Use the 4 smaller tubular hardware pieces for a JL. One will be longer than the others. Put this piece on the bottom left drill hole. Disassemble table from frame.Mount frame to tailgate, tops first, then bottoms using the screws with washers providedReassemble table to frameTighten EVERYTHING, including the wires that holds the table up (this will make the wires fold inwards when stowed away)Took 2 of us 15 minutes. No rattle, no lose pieces, extra hardware??looks great, fits perfect. The “deadspace” between table and tailgate is about 1.5cm5 star table 2 star instructions.Watch Rugged ridge youtube video.

enclosed leaflet is tricky. 2/ Use the small o/d diameter fittings only. 2/ 14mm better
Robust and does the job

Great tailgate table
The instructions are not the best as stated in other reviews. How to install on a JLU:1. Disassemble the mount and table2. Remove the plastic cover on the tailgate. I recommend a plastic pry tool, it will pop right off3. Hold the mounting plate up to the tailgate. Place a small piece of masking tape on the door where the 4 bolt holes match up w the factory mounting positions on the Jeep4. Put the mount to the side and pick up the plastic cover you removed from the gate. The top two holes are easy to identify with the cylinders in the plastic cover. The bottom two holes can be identified by holding the plastic cover face down next to the tailgate at a 90 degree angle. You will see two small indentations on the plastic that align w the tape you have on the tailgate. Take the tape off the gate and place it on the plastic next the two bottom indentations.5. Drill the four holes slowly so you don’t melt the plastic.6. Put the plastic cover on the tailgate. Hold the mount up to the plastic and insert the top two screws and hand tighten lightly. Align the bottom two holes and insert the screws. If you missed drilling the hole slightly don’t worry you can insert the drill from the outside and make the hole slightly larger. The mounting plate will hide the holes. Tighten all 4 screws7. Assemble the tray and hand tighten.8. Open and close the tray a couple times to check for fit. Once it is good tighten the screws and check again.9. The six plastic tube inserts weren’t used at all. You could use them if you wanted the mount to extend the extra inch or so from the tailgate. I prefer the tight fit so I don’t bump it when the tailgate is open. This is personal preference.

Nice and quiet.
My son installed it in a short time, about 10-15 minutes. It solid and not noisy. Great for the price.

Product is ok, instructions are less than desirable
I unboxed this with high hopes but after looking at the instructions and the included hardware for a bit, I wondered if I was sent the right part. There is no way to tell since the only writing on the outside of the box is in Chinese. I then studied the instructions again but there is nothing on them that tells you what the model number of the product you are trying to install. Then I figured I would try youtube, I found a video of a similar product install and watched it. Then I went back to this and scratched my head. Then I saw a QR code, I thought this must be the holy grail. I scanned it and it brought up an exact digital version of the terrible instructions that came with it. There is very little wording, many, many pictures but they are the size of a postage stamp and are unusable because they are too small to figure out what they are doing. Let me save you some trouble. Throw away the included template, it is only about 95% to scale. If you try and use this you will fail. I removed the plastic cover on my tailgate, inserted the screws about half way, put some sharpie on them and aligned the plastic cover and tapped where the screws are with my hand. Low and behold, there are marks from Jeep that line up with the marks from the screws to drill the holes already in the plastic. Drill these out, put the plastic tailgate cover back on. Then take apart the table, it will be much easier to assemble just the back plate to your Jeep. Once this is attached you can then put the table part back together. I did have some aluminum bushings left over that I can't figure out where they go. I thought they might be spacers for behind the jeep plastic tailgate liner but they are too big for that. Overall quality is Ok, it had a couple of chips in the paint but I covered them with a black sharpie. For $90, I kind of expected something a little better quality. The two camlocks that hold the table closed had the wire part of the latch falling out because the ends were not closed enough. I was able to close these up with pliers. I think it will do the job of holding things when I park which is what I needed. I am pretty mechanically inclined, and this took me almost 2 hours to install because of the lack of instructions; the next one I could do in about 15 minutes.
