Great product
I have always been a Sony fan. Recently bought Bravia LED 3D TV and after wall mounting it, I was looking for a decent HD transmitter. Once I came to know about DMXWL1, I was excited but lack of good reviews and since its discontinued model I was little skeptical. After much deliberation went with it and do not regret it at all. Great product. I am surprised that Sony discontinued it. May be they can not get premium price that they earlier set. I think for 299 it is total worth it though.About the product - Set up was fairly easy. I was up and functional within 10 minutes. My TV and receiver is about 35 feet apart and picture quality is good. No disturbance even though I have 5.8 GHz wireless and telephone around. Switching between devices is fairly easy .. As mentioned by others and Sony accepts its as well that it takes 4-5 seconds for device to sync when you switch from one input to other. I dont think its that a bigger deal though. Its not 1080p but I I dont think any programs other than DVD are 1080p .. 1080i is more than good enoughIR blasters are pretty handy and quite useful. I have programmed Dish DVR and FioS Cable box to be operated via given RF remote. Set up quite easy and start up guide helps you with it.All in all. Solid product .. Sony Rocks !(4 stars just because I have used it only for couple days so far but no reason it will stop working. Also haven't tried from another room .. )

How Dare I Doubt Sony
I had my eye on this product since 2008, and just recently I purchased it. I almost passed it up by reading the previous reviews; good thing I gave it a shot. Currently, I have the WL1 connected to my PS3, to keep it out-of-sight-out-of-mind. Thinking that sony is as sony does, I tried to route the receiver through my STR-DN1000. After hours (HOURS) of troubleshooting, I nearly gave in and was ready to return the unit. Then I consulted the manual (why do we always result to the manual as a last resort?) and routed the receiver to the HDMI port of my KDL-46EX700. Perfecto!!!! After some tweaking, I also had 7.1 surround sound. In short, I am pleased with everything. Sony and Amazon gets kudos.

not necessary....
When I was shopping for a Sony TV, the Sony rep told me that I needed to get this WIRELESS HD LINK in order to tie in all my components so I can go wireless for my wall mounted TV. Well, after hooking everything up (Sony AV system, Nintendo Wii and Cable box) everything worked! But my husband figured out how to hook it up without using the WIRELESS HD LINK. The wonderful feature about SONY products is that the different SONY components recognize each other and they all can be controlled by one remote. So I feel really foolish buying this product. There is nothing wrong with it. It may have been useful if I had different brands of AV equipment but if you have all SONY stuff, you don't need this SONY WIRELESS LINK. And yes, I was suckered by the SONY rep.

Great, almost perfect.
I use this product to keep my PS3 out of sight and mind and to make the whole wall mount look magic with NO wires hanging around. Has a strong signal, and many inputs. Throws Dolby 5.1 as well! Only gripe is sometimes signal will drop for a sec, and the resolution has to reconfigure itself. This may ne because the unit is clear in another room and should not detract from the quality of the product. Unit is rather large to "hide" in a wall mount setup though. I am very pleased with it though.

Did Not Work On My Awesome 42 and 47" Samsungs!
I really had high hopes for this product Unfortunately, they cannot transmit uncompressed audio to my beautiful Samsungs (best in the industry). So i purchased a generic whdmi transmitter and low and behold WORKS! But not the sony brand. Sony you need to get with the times and forget about making them bravia compatible ONLY. LolPS Unfortunately i purchased through amazon via an affiliate so i cannot return the product. However, i CAN sell it so i will.

Awesome Technology!!!
I live in a 4 level split and had been looking for a way to get a HD signal from one level to another without having to run a HDMI cable. This unit works perfectly. It is connected to my Sony LED TV, so compatibility is not an issue but not sure if it would be anyways. The setup is relatively easy and once setup you are good to go. I'm not sure why this type of system is not more readily available...had checked Best Buy and Future Shop in my city and no one had a unit like this, so i was happy when I found it on Amazon. Shipping was surprisingly fast...one week to Canada. Would definitely recommend!!!!

Three Stars
A bit problematic for PC...

Not good
The actual HD signals weren't supported and the only slightly functional input was a low resolution computer output. Possibly acceptable for digital signage, but enhance your home theater, it will not. Customer service from the distributor was also pretty awful. Promises of refunds from manufacturers and RMAs from the company that never arrived. On an expensive product, not a great situation.
