Gerhard Richter: Panorama: A Retrospective: Expanded Edition

I bought this as an inspiration for my husband who is also an abstract painter. It's a great art book in that it has copious, fine illustrations and a lot of information. Good color plates and printing techniques were used for the illustrations, which is a must in our art library.

I bought this book for my own library and to have as reference material for giving classes. The pictures are lush and really gives a feeling for his painting. It's a big thick book full of delicious pictures. Of course, nothing from a book is as good as seeing the real thing, but this is probably among the top five gallery books I have, and I image will go back to it from time to time for inspiration.

The book was better than expected in size and content. Nicely and safely packaged, efficient delivery. Very pleased.

Valuable, expansive account of an artist who has lived, and continue to lives through interesting challenging and turbulent times. Wonderful variety of works throughout and very informative narrative.

During my marriage, my then-husband and I attended the Panorama retrospective at the Tate Modern. The exhibition was a highlight of our art-appreciation lives; this book is a beautiful memento of that extraordinary experience. The paper, binding, and plate quality are the highest quality and make reading this book a pleasure. This version includes material that Gerhard Richter produced after the 2011 exhibition in London.

This is a beautiful book with a wealth of good quality reproductions of the work. The several essays that I read enriched the work and were thought provoking. My one caveat is that many of the figures (illustrations) could not be found by the numbers given. The listing of the plates was fine, but their was a disconnect with the smaller images and their numbers.This was my introduction to Richter's work. A friend who knows it better missed some work he considered essential.

Book arrived in excellent condition. The book itself is beautifully laid out with a great narrative.

I'm using these cards in a nonstandard way, just thinking "what color is today?" and finding a dragon that appeals to me. Reading about that dragon is a lovely way to start my day!
