Q: I understand that the shelf measures 4.1 x 3. Which is the depth and which is the width?

4.1" is the width and they are 3" deep

Q: I can't seem to fit the anchor in the hole. The instructions say drill with 4mm what am I missing?

It appears the instructions are wrong--4mm is far too small for these anchors. I experimented a bit, and the 1/4" bit was the smallest one that I had that would allow the anchor to fit. Seems solid.

Q: Can this be used in the shower to hold shampoo?

Hello, these are not meant to be used in the shower as it could damage the product. You can use them in small rooms, where a conventional table won’t fit (to hold your cellphone or car keys) or as a bathroom shelf or bedroom side table. They are truly versatile. Sincerely, Umbra

I drilled the hole and then pushed the anchor in with my thumb to make it flush to the wall, then finished by screwing the bracket to the wall
