Stunning watch.
My beautiful wife was kind enough to purchase this as a gift and I am super thankful. This watch is amazing, the dial has an awesome blue texture with very subtle images of manta rays on the lower portion of the face. The face is clear and crisp and the day/date window is an added bonus. The watch hands and indices are bright and nicely polished with a very bright lume. Additionally, the watch bezel feels tight and stays where it has been rotated. The band is a nice blue silicone and feels great on the wrist, it was not stiff out of the box like some rubber/silicone bands can be. Although the watch is a bit on the heavy side, this is something I prefer. The automatic movement seems to last about a day and half when not being worn, but is easy enough to rewind with the screw down crown.Overall I am thrilled with this watch.Would I recommend this watch and buy again? Yes.

If you're on the fence just do it.
I had owned the Seiko PADI diver w/the pepsi bezel for three years and was wondering if upgrading to the King Turtle would be worth it but oh lawdy rest assured this baby is one cool customer! Some positives...The ceramic bezel is a noticeable touch of classCan't be certain but it definitely feels as if the lume was made with a little extra TLC.Bezel clicks better (again not exact science but it certainly feels that way)If you're worried that it might be too large of a watch don't worry. The case shape allows it to wear smaller than as advertised on the dimensions.Someone else in the reviews said that this was the Toyota Tundra of watches and I couldn't agree more.

Probably the best mid-tier Seiko diver available
The "king turtle" is a known entity at this point---upgrading the bezel to cermamic and the crystal to sapphire from the original turtle. I've never owned the "basic" turtle, but I've heard that the silicon strap on this watch is also an upgrade. I really like the strap, but also wear it on a nylon ("nato"-style) strap and an Uncle Seiko beads of rice bracelet with fitted endlinks (I highly recommend this last, but it is a *pain* to put on). I really like the green waffle-dial pattern and the rectangle cyclops. People run hot or cold about the cyclops magnifier, but it provides good magnification (unlike some) and helps disguise the fact that there is absolutely no attention given to the date window at all, it's just a hole in the dial---which I think might be a bit of an eyesore without the cyclops. If you want to debate about the best seiko models, rising prices, etc. then you can find plenty of company on various watch forums. However, for me, this is the best automatic seiko diver in its price tier. Moving a step higher, you get the 62mas reissues, with the upgraded 6rxx movement. Short of those (which will run you around 900-1k from an authorized dealer, and around 700 if you want to import them from the Middle East on ebay) this is it. Iconic design (the famous "willard" model was actually an earlier version of this case design), versatile, and good features for the money.People complain about the accuracy of seiko's automatic movements, especially the 4r series, but I haven't had any trouble. Seiko often provides very conservative stated tolerances with the watch usually overperforming to a significant degree.

Definitely Recommend This Watch
Definitely recommend - Anyone who looking for a great watch, this is it. I have had this watch for a couple months now and Its everything I was looking for in a watch. Automatic, 45mm, day, date and accurate time, unlike some watches that are advertise and are not what they say they are.....

A beautiful Seiko classic with excellent upgrades
For most people who have followed Seiko closely know that Seiko is famous for its dive watch, a long history going back to 1960s. Two main branches of Seiko dive watch are Turtle and Tuna, the latter being more geared toward professional saturation divers than for casual water sports wear. The cushion shape of Turtle was outrageous when it first came out in the 1970s, but gradually it was accepted. By now it has become a Seiko classic. This new version of Turtle (called King Turtle) has all the traits of previous issues, with a few very nice upgrades: 1) Sapphire crystal, 2) ceramic bezel insert, and 3) a new bezel with better rotation feel. Some people don't like the added day/date magnifier glass, but I like it. It gives the watch an additional "dimensions" when viewed from different angles, not to mention the improved readability.Seiko issued a few different models for King Turtle this year. I personally like this green waffle version the best. But I know this is a matter of personal taste. I happen to like military green for a sports watch, probably because I used to wear a cheap military green Seiko 5 for ten years when I was very young (speaking of that old Seiko 5, it still ticks!).The only reason I take out one star is the slight misalignment of the bezel. It's so slight that one may not notice it if not looking very carefully. I heard Seiko tend to have this bezel misalignment problem, but interestingly, none of my previous Seikos (all cheaper than this one) had this problem. Now, I encountered it when buying a more expensive Seiko. Nevertheless, it's not a problem that really bothers me very much.

Great, Quality Watch!
I was a little skeptical prior to ordering this watch on whether or not I would actually like it. I own a few other Seko’s, including the newer model GMT. This one is my new favorite. The quality is noticeable over their other models in $200-$300 price range. It does look a little bigger on wrist in photos, but in person it is much more proportionate. If you’re in the market for a solid dive watch under $500, I strongly recommend this watch.
