I’m not sure why the neighborhood cats are marking my garage door & porch now? I have house cats that do not go outside, maybe they’re trying to tell my cats they own my house?? 😂 mine are neutered and spayed… But these spikes have stopped them from marking my garage so far. I also did a really good urine clean up before placing them in front of my garage. I bought more for my front porch. If you’re having the same issues? Get these..they work without harming any animals. They will not walk on them. Note: I did have to buy a few sets, so they are out far enough to keep them away at a distance from the garage and placed them up against the garage. Also they don’t connect that well together. So I added zip ties to keep them together. ( they do come with stakes if placing them in a garden ) They are not going anywhere unless I have a wind storm. I’ll just place a brick on it to keep it down. Hope it works for you. I didn’t take a pic. They are exactly as pictured in squares. Hope this helps you decide. They work! Good luck !👍

Spikes are flexible enough to not seriously injure anything stepping on it. Definitely keeps animals away from digging in the same hole. They are not huge mats, maybe order a couple more than you'd first think.My dogs stay away from their old holes now, and instead just dig new ones lol I finally fixed this with a training collar but that's another story. These did what they were supposed to!

I am using the mats to keep Farrell cats out of my flower garden. With the use of rocks to fill in spots that the mats couldn’t over, they are working out very well.

I bought these to zip tie to my bird cage to keep my 3 cats from jumping and it was easy to work with and cut to size as well. light weight and good quality.

The media could not be loaded.  I bought these mats instead of a spike strip because they are described as 1 inch wider than the strips, making the total area a better value than the strips and offsetting the need to connect them; however, the assembled mats measured 11 inches wide, just like the strips (see photo). I contacted the seller, who told me the width is 11.81 inches, which I guess includes the length of the connectors on the ends because the mats themselves didn't measure that way. Additionally, only the long edges include connectors, so if you want the full 160 inch (13.3ft) length, you will need to come up with a way to connect the mats yourself (I used bread ties). FYI, the length of the mat when I connected the long sides together was 9 ft 5 inches. I think these mats might be better suited for people who want to cover area around things instead of along things.My box included 10 mats and 7 metal stakes. It did not include instructions for joing the mats, which gave me a few pokes and scrapes. I eventually settled on slipping the rectangular connector over the split arrowhead (it'll make sense when you look at the pictures =-) and pressing one edge of the rectangle down until it popped beneath the edge of the arrowhead, then twisting til the other edge popped down led to the fewest ouchies. They were easier than I'd expected to undo as well by twisting in the opposite direction. the mats were molded with rectangular connectors throughout which were oriented in different directions, which would be convenient for cutting and fitting the mats, and there were even spikes molded in that I thought could be snipped out and used for extra ground stakes, or maybe folded out to hook onto neighboring mats.I'm happy with my final mat, but if I'd understood how the product had been measured, I would have got a better value with less hassle by purchasing a strip.

We had to get these to keep the cats off the top of the upper cabinets.Two of our cats now stay off the cabinets. Our big-boy cat.. Well, he likes a challenge.

I read the reviews before purchasing these scat mats. My large dogs bounce off the doors when someone comes to the house which results in damage to the door frames. The scat mats sounded like a great deterrent but in fact these very stiff "thorns" can in fact puncture a dog's paws. Perhaps the seller has increased the strength of the thorns since the previous reviewers complained that they were ineffective and pets were sleeping on the mats but I don't recommend using these. Softer thorns are definitely in order. We don't want to injure our pets, just deter them from bad behavior. And heaven forbid that a pet bounces onto one of these mats, not realizing how stiff the thorns are. I think they should be banned from amazon, they're that dangerous. Nor would I use them outside to deter wildlife as some have done. I'm going to look around for scat mats that have softer thorns. They will be safe deterrents.

The cats thought is was nothing until they stepped on it. Surprise! It didn't take long to figure it out and stay off of it. Really like them.
