Authentic rustic metal tray, leakproof design but metal too thin for full rating
Ok, this looks nice, having a genuinely rustic design and finish. Nice deep sides to stop anything slipping off and 2 easy carry handles for good stability. The tray looks like something you found in a second-hand shop, you took it home, cleaned it up and yet it retained all the old charm of its previous years of use. Slightly tarnished handles and distressed galvanised base all add to the certain look of yesteryear. The rim of this tray has a rolled-over design, giving it a perfectly smooth edge that won't catch your fingers or clothing. Being all metal, you can wash it, scrub it and bash it around without detracting from its retro looks. The tray is functional and water-resistant to spills. Anything inside this tray will not leak out, unlike many other types of trays on the market. The tray is not completely perfect, however. The metal is a little bit thin and you could easily deform it with heavy handling. Pushing the base in and out reveals a little 'ping' where the metal bends. I'm not complaining about this, just letting you know about the things I see and notice. The design and authentic look succeed brilliantly and will look great in any serving location where a retro/ rustic look is intended. Coupled with a practical leakproof design and easy cleaning makes this a good Tray. I'm somewhat surprised at the price point of nearly £20, but if this is the look you want, it's hard to beat, just wish the material was slightly thicker.

My new favourite thing!
I absolutely love this little tray. Firmly in the "industrial chic" aesthetic, it's galvanised metal and looks at first glance like something you might expect to use in the garden. However, it's practical, useful and really quite stylish - perhaps a tiny bit pricy at £20 or so but it's well-made and if you like this sort of thing, you won't mind.At 30 cm diameter it's the ideal size for a TV dinner: you can sit with this on your lap and it's the perfect fit for a normal size dinner plate. Alternatively, you can park it next to you on the sofa if you don't have a coffee table to hand and it's ideal for drinks or snacks. As it's sturdy, rainproof and galvanised, you can even take it outside if you're enjoying an hour or two in the sun, and it won;t mind if you forget ad leave it in the garden during a downpour. The handles make it easy to carry and it's light and doesn't take up too much room. Can you tell that I love it?

Decorative shabby chic tray
I got this to use as a stable platform to make the huge upholstered footstool in our lounge usable as a coffee table, we have a glass mirror set into a gold frame tray, which is a bit too Essex Housewife for my taste. This is a new item trying a bit too hard to look like an old reclaimed item, the trouble is it doesn't pass any kind of inspection. It is a flat piece of metal about the thickness of a biscuit tin, with a band spot welded to give it a vertical raised side and two loop handles, at least the top edge is rolled over.It has a galvanised look to it but even that doesn't look really that authentic even if it is!If you can make a fancy tin of biscuits fill it with biscuits and sell it for less than £10, this, being no better quality should cost no more than £10 even without the biscuits. Practical for carrying drinks - but this versatile tray has a host of possible uses...
This 30cm round galvanised metal tray looks rather good and with 7cm tall edges is very practical for carrying drinks. The carrying handles are very generously sized. With a rustic feel, it looks good in the garden. As it's galvanised it shouldn't rust. It appears that a stippled paint effect has been applied to the surfaces. The tray is actually very versatile and could be put to a wide range of uses. It's good for clustering objects together decoratively or it could be used to group plants - a good way to grow plants that prefer similar conditions. It's well enough made within its rustic perimeters. The tray's edges are rolled and there are no sharp edges. I like it - it's not a bargain but I do believe it to be reasonably priced and it's about what I'd expect to pay in a garden centre.

Use as a tray or as a decorative item
Nice tray with a faux rustic look about it. The tray has good deep sides so if you are using it for it's real purpose then if you spill a drink it shouldn't be too big of a disaster, I filled it with water to test and had no leaks. The design is understated and would also look good as a decorative piece especially in a kitchen with a sympathetic decor - I think it might look a little out of place in a hi tech modern setting. The handles are great and easy to hold but also act as useful method to store the tray by hanging from a hook. All the edges as you would expect are smoothed down so no chance of any sharp metal cuts. It's an attractive and useful tray but the price personally I think is a little high I would expect it to be about the £15 mark.

Shabby chic with next-day delivery
Solid metal tray, overall a little too uniform and quality to be truly 'antique' in appearance but fairly well made. My sample has a small split in the welding, so it wouldn't hold liquid for a bird bath or similar use, and it also had a dent under the handle - which in fairness, I rather like as it adds character - however I've marked it down for this variation as the quality control could be better, obviously.Although suggested as a serving tray, I use it as a tray for a garden table with a flowerpot in the middle and space to put forks and things for marshmallows around a fire pit. I don't mind if it gets mucky, and the character of the tray really suits that use. Will probably buy another for having condiments and things when we have BBQs!
