Centaur Gluten Free Japanese Style Tempura Batter Mix 1kg

Works well for my fish and chips and as a coeliac I tolerate it well. Some other gluten free batters I have tried have not been so well tolerated.

Having tried many times and failed to make a decent GF batter mix myself I decided to give this a try. Have just made some super-crispy deep fried onion rings with it, and am really happy with with the thickness and texture of the batter. Two things buyers should know: there are no mixing instructions and the batter will continue to thicken a bit while mixing it. I used ginger ale, just because that's what I had to hand. Fizzy water, lemonade and GF beer would work just as well. If you don't like a pale batter I imagine you could add turmeric and/or paprika to give it some colour.

Made prawns in batter for my Coeliac husband and they turned out really well. I mixed it with ice cold sparkling water to make a firm batter. Dipped prawns straight in and fried in vegetable oil. Found it half price on another website but the product is fantastic.

So pleased I can purchase direct as GF not available anywhere, recently diagnosed so missed out Tempura food. Thank you
