can this work with old school receiver

Q1: Volume-wise... how is the output... faint so you must crank the receiver volume up high... or... just like a CD or radio or other input... switch among imputs without fear that volume differences will hurt your ears? Q2: will this support iPhone XS? Q2B: Can I play anything from iPhone XS to this to receiver... How do you turn it off?

Mine is plugged into a switched 110 volt outlet on the back of my stereo receiver. When the receiver is off, the outlet is off. However, as others have said, it doesnt need to be turned off.
