These kits contain everything you need except scissors. Needles and plenty of thread are included, as well as an adjustable plastic hoop. Instructions are included for how to make the different stitched but no instructions on tying off or hiding beginning and ending thread ends so they don’t show through the sheer net fabric. And there are no instructions on how to finish off the edges. My granddaughters agreed that, as beginners, without my guidance they would have struggled. They were proud of their work and pleased with the appearance of their finished pieces, though.

I ordered three of these so I could start teaching two of my granddaughters - ages 14 and 18 - to embroider. The stitches were not difficult but working on the sheer net background required some skill to hide thread ends. The girls agreed that without my guidance they would have struggled. There are not enough instructions for beginners. And there are no instructions for finishing off the edges. The girls are proud of their work and we are pleased with the finished pieces, though!

Embroidery on sheer fabric is a little tricky as many other reviews have noted. Mine did not come with needle threader which is needed for threading multiple strands. The netting is quite fragile so care is needed when pulling thread through. I love the sheer look and am happy with my finished project. Finished in just a couple of hours. Project directions did not instruct how to trim, but I will be cutting the extra.

The item design looked nothing like the instruction version, and there wasn't enough white thread to finish the embroidery... the directions were terrible for beginners, i had to look it up on youtube.

I purchased as a gift for my daughter-in-law. She has been wanting to try one with the transparent background. I do not know yet if she has completed it, but she did enjoy receiving the gift.

Not in the mood to play 20 questions.

Nice idea but impossible to do without showing through to front!
