Easy to use, good value, responsive customer service
This is a good scanner at this price point, plus I had a positive customer experience with the Symcode rep. After about a month of mashing the trigger button like a game controller, it sorta caved in and no longer produced the usual "click" when depressed. It still worked but I figured it was on its way out. I assumed I'd have to order another, but I decided to reach out to Symcode anyway. After asking for a little more info, the rep replaced the scanner. It should be in the mail now and if I don't update this review, it means I received it. Aside from that, the scanner was pretty easy to set up. I've used it with my android phone without any issues (haven't tried it on my PC). It comes with a booklet in which you can find the codes to change settings. Personally, I turned off the sound and adjusted the sleep time to "never" so that it doesn't shut off on me. The battery has never died on me, which is more than I can say for some past scanners. I've found that if you leave it on and don't use it for extended periods, you may need to reconnect it with your phone, but it's only disconnected during actual use a couple times (equal to the other scanners I've used). It's larger than some of the premium scanners that would cost you 4x the price of this one, but I actually like the size. Maybe go with the smaller ones if you're trying to be super-discreet, but I don't see any need otherwise. I tended to drop or misplace the little ones more often due to their size. I think I saw a few reviews complaining about the batter compartment but I had no trouble with that. Maybe they've fixed the issue. I've also seen complaints about the customer service, but my experience was positive. They got back to me within 24 hours and resolved my issue within a day or two.TLDR: I found the scanner easy to use relative to others and a good value at this price point. When I broke one of the buttons with my fat fingers, Symcode replaced the scanner. For the price of a more premium scanner, you could buy four of these.

Its one of the best scanners I've tried
Amazon yet again have delivered, I received these on the same day as I ordered, delivery was by prime and as always very efficient. To the product:-Reason for purchase - As my eBay buissness has started to ramp up I need a barcode scanner to identify my stock as all of my boxes are starting to look the same!It contains:-1 x Barcode Scanner1 x MicroUSB Cable1 x Wireless Adapter1 x Battery1 x ManualThe device itself has truely been made rugged. Its covered in rubber and is able to sustain many drops.Scan wise, Its one of the best scanners I've tried. all too often do you need to be about 10cm away from the barcode for the scanner to recognise it. This on the other hand has no issues at all. It beeps without issue at 30cm, as the stock room isnt that big yet I've not really tried further but once I do i'll update this review.Transmission range is also quite good, better than bluetooth but The dream would be WiFi but thats asking a lot from a product! no issues with the battery life, I can do a stocktake with over a thousand items with this scanner without it even moaning about a low battery. All in all a great product.

Wonderful, but make sure you read the ENTIRE manual and understand all of the different settings etc.
I am updating my review to 5 stars because my previous negative review was due to my user error. Now I want to explain this for anyone else who has this issue. The issue was that the scanner would not stay connected with my bluetooth. How do you fix this? Well, inside of the little manual you get, there is a code that you can scan to determine how long the scanner waits before it goes to "sleep". YOU MUST scan the one that tells it to NEVER SLEEP, and then you will have NO ISSUES keeping it connected to your phone. I feel extremely silly. As soon as i scanned this, my issue vanished and now I have no problems with it whatsoever. There are other scanners like this one such as the EYOYO and this one looks the same but the laser pointer is more concentrated and reads the barcodes much better than the other ones I have tried. I like both but once you get this one set up correctly it is superior in my opinion. :) Happy sourcing!

I will likely opt to return this one and sacrifice the cheapness or size for something better. All that being said
Very cheap construction considering the price( it is cheap compared to other compact scanners, but expensive relative to other simple electronics). Extremely loud beeping, which I still have not been able to turn off or turn down despite emailing the seller about it (which to his credit, was very promptly responded to). I'm not sure why the information on turning the beeping off (despite it not working anyway) is withheld to begin with. The instructions are vague and difficult to understand considering how many "settings" there appear to be. I don't need the scanner to do much, but it would be helpful if the user was given the opportunity to make full use of it with a little more detail on each of the modes. However, the english in the manual is fairly broken, such that more detail probably would not help unfortunately. No wonder the top of the line compact barcode scanners are 6 times the price. I will likely opt to return this one and sacrifice the cheapness or size for something better. All that being said, I was able to pair it and scan barcodes pretty quickly, so I will give it 3 stars. I just cannot justify giving it a better rating with those other glaring and fixable issues.

They need someone who speaks English to write the manual
I’ve had it for a couple of weeks and have used it pretty much on a daily basis. Not as fast as some of the other ones, but let’s face it: those scanners are $300+ and this one is $50. It’s actually better than I expected.Looking at their rank, they’ve sold thousands of these. I think it’s time to spend a couple of bucks and hire someone who speaks English to write the manual. It is very unprofessional. There are run-on sentences that go on for like a paragraph and cover 25 different topics. The scanner is actually very easy to use, but if you look at the manual it will just confuse you.Their first and foremost priority should be making setup user friendly and easy for the buyer.
