Day Trading the Currency Market: Technical And Fundamental Strategies to Profit from Market Swings (Wiley Trading)

This book lays out the template to go by in order to be a successful trader. While the strategies are instructional at best the foundation is solid.

The majority of information an individual or small-time investor needs to begin trading in any market can be found (albeit less conveniently agglomerated) online. What makes great traders is their track record and as a rule each successful trader's secret is a trade secret. As with many book in the genre of "Trading for Non-Traders", this book glosses over the economics that apply to any market and those of specific interest to those who trade the FX. Furthermore, its explanations of both technical and fundamental trading strategies is superficial at best. The saving grace of this book is its emphasis on a trading diary wherein the trader explicitly sets the amount of pips the trader is willing to lose or gain on an individual trade. The author's presentation of this is excellent, complete with a starter template. Especially in day trading, a timescale during which the primary driver is market psychology, money management is by far the most important. Resign yourself to the fact that there is no perfect trading strategy, however unlike true gambling you can tip the odds in your favor. The beginning of that is setting your own odds (your own win/lose ratio in pips) and this book presents that beginning nicely.

The book provides basic information on currency markets day trading. Enjoyed reading the book and recommend reading it before trading.

Kathy Lien does an excellent job of covering the basics, but also includes a number of very solid strategies that both beginners and advanced traders can use without getting too technical. Must buy for serious FOREX traders.

I have read over 60 books on trading and the Forex. I really expected a lot more from Kathy then regurgatation of the most basic information on the Forex market that you can find on even the worst Forex website. The charts were terrible and some of the paragraph references to chart numbers were off. The trading startegies were worthless, no details just general verbiage. WORTHLESS!!!!! You can waste you money if you want-but you have been warned.Save your money for Van K. Tharp's Trade Your Way To Financial Freedom or Bruce Kamich's How Technical Analysis Works.

This is a guide that all currency day traders should take the time to read. It is informative and easy to follow. It gave me insights into the market that helped make me more profitable.

I just finished reading this book and after reading more than a dozen of books on forex and day trading I must say the book is a waste of money. Most of the topics in the book are covered superficially and the few trading strategies presented are poorly documented and contain errors.

The book is excellent and gives a real insight to the workings of day trading forex, i was looking for an intermediate level book and this is as good as i would have hoped,it is also excellent for beginners as it tells you how the whiole forex market started etc so it would be good for all levels of forex trading. if you want to give forex trading a go this is an excellent place to start.

I liked that it had a historical background detailing how the Forex world came to be, from even before Bretton Woods. It explained why forex versus other asset classes. Which was obvious to me, but even more obvious now.It's straightforward, not boasty, or too much words for nothing, and to the point. I like.Indeed, for beginners and pros, and veterans.I am done reading yet, but I am a fan already.
