Plus Guard Your ID Stamp, Large, Pink, 1 Pad

This was purchased as a gift for a relative who needed to dispose of some personal papers and needed to block out information. I had purchased this as part of a set and loved it. the one star on easy to read is compliment as that is what you want, something that covers what you don't want read.

When I received this item, I was amazed at how well the combination of letters masks your confidential information. Anything with adhesive is very bad for shredders, so I use this on anything sticky (package labels, magazine labels, etc.) and also on some mostly generic items with only a small spot with confidential / address information. I have had this product for a couple months now and it's great. I did find that on some magazines, the stamp works very well but after the ink dries, you can see the information that is underneath. I believe that this probably bled through due to the type of surface that I stamped it on, but just make sure you test the ink and let it dry completely before tossing your stuff - at least until you find out what it works / does not work on. I would definitely recommend this product and have, in fact, purchased three more of these to give as gifts. It's a great way to help protect your confidential information!

I'll start by saying I owe this review to the reviewer above named Moonie who mentioned a "decoder." I've used this stamp for about a year and even gave one to my mom and an aunt as a gift. I deeply regret that now. I thought this stamp was great, and just happened to see Moonie's review when I came back to order a second stamp for myself in pink. It appeared to completely obliterate my information when used on plain, non-glossy paper or other non-slick surfaces. When I read that a black marker "undoes" the effect, I didn't believe it. So I tried it. I'm sad and actually a little scared to realize that it's true. I took papers I had stamped almost 24 hours earlier and scribbled lines across the stamped area with a black sharpee. At first, I didn't see any difference and was about to disregard the warning when the paper caught the light and my personal information practically jumped off the page. Black marker over top of this stamp makes the original text reflective and "thicker." It stands out through the stamp's ink and when turned towards light it reflects the light and basically glows. I'm very troubled to think of how much information has been "safely" discarded by myself and members of my family, never knowing how easy this lock was to pick. It's a great idea, but sadly it's just too easy to get around--the countermeasure costs less than a dollar and can be found in just about every household, office, and store there is. And even more sadly, reviewers can't warn others without the ID thieves finding out about it, too. I'm going to have to go back to shredding. What a great product, I love this so much that I'll have to order another one for my sister-in-law! This is so much better than sitting in front of a shredder. I used to do my shredding during tv commercials or just let it pile up until it became an eyesore. Now I just stamp unwanted junk mail and other items rip and throw in the garbage, no need for anything to pile up. After buying this item I saw a similar one in the store, it was not as large as this one is and looks like you'd have to really make many many stamps to cover the text, but with this one it totally covers the address labels and other areas of documents and junk mail to obliterate all text. Save yourself a headache looking at piles and piles of junk mail and get this, you can just stamp as you go. Best item ever!

I just received my ID Guard Stamp pad today and went absolutely crazy using my new stamp to block out all my address labels from my mail and believe me I get quite a lot of junk mail. I was like a little kid with a new toy! It is much easier to use then a shredder...which I will still use for really important personal documents. Great product. I also purchased an extra stamp pad refill to make sure I have it for a long time without worrying about running out of ink. Just be aware that on magazines or catalogs with shiny/glossy paper, be sure it dries first before tossing because it can smear. Everyone should have one of these and use it as soon as the mail comes it, just stamp it and toss it. No more piles of junk waiting to be shredded.

I really like the stamp. Stamp down once and it totally overrides the entire address. That's great. The only problem I have is that clamp into it's base while not in use. If I move from place to place with it, I have to hold it by the bottom or should I accidentally knock it on it's side, I have to always be aware so that it won't dry out. Maybe it's just mine. I got one for my daughter and hers seem to be fine.

Great coverage for personal information on junk mail.

I had an ID stamp guard that lasted for several years before breaking. So I needed another one and purchased the Cast guard ID stamp. It works perfectly! I would buy again should I need another one in the future.
