Buyer beware..needs expensive batteries that run out quickly and mechanism is temperamental
Just received this product a week ago. My last food scale cost more than twice the price of this and was an OXO and very poorly designed. This Ozeri scale so far is a delight to use. Two buttons one is the on off, tare button and the other one is for either ounces or grams. The only tricky thing was that to shut the power off you simply have to press the on off button longer which the instruction book makes no mention of. I figured it out myself but why doesn't the instruction book say this? Hello Ozeri are you listening? The design is almost identical in size and weight and color and thickness to the smaller version IPad. It really looks like an ipad which is great.I'm writing a follow up review. After only 6 months of use I'm having issues with this scale. At times it won't function for a few minutes at all. Gibberish will show rather than weight. This is not related to needing new batteries. It still happened after replacing them. Also be aware this only take lithium ion batteries which are expensive and cost about 7 dollars everytime they run out. I'm already on my third pair! Be aware that the scale may be cheap up front in price but I'd prefer that it take AA batteries which are much cheaper. When it works its good but its getting more and more temperamental. Buyer beware. I've downgraded my score to 1 star.

Good scale - update
Came in good condition. First seemed to fluctuate off of zero until I realized I had a ceiling fan on and it was disrupting it. Once I shut it off it settled down. Checked it with calibration weights. 5 grams okay. 10 grams okay. 20 grams okay. 50 grams okay. 100 grams - it was fluctuating between 100 and 101. Tried several times with same result. With holding 5th star until I can check the 100 gram weight. Have a 500 gram scale coming in. Will check that one plus my son in law has a good scale I will check with that. Batteries look like they came half full. Plan on getting some fresh ones and trying again. If you want your batteries to last longer turn it off when done using. Hold down Tare button a few seconds it should turn off. Also make sure it isn't in direct path of air conditioner. That could disrupt also. I will be back to update periodically. Tested the calibration weights with a more sensitive scale which says the 100g weight is between 100.2 and 100.3 grams. Raising stars to 4.5 stars.Update: Scale died spring of 2020. Went though 2 changes of batteries. So beware that it may only lastv2.5 years.

If Accuracy is Your Objective, This Isn't It!...... UPDATED: 5 STARS - COMPANY STEPS UP AND DELIVERS!!!
Liked it at first, but started noticing that if you weigh the same thing more than once, you get different weights, as much as a couple of grams and when removing the item, rather than falling back to zero it's now a minus! Noticed this when trying to measure 7 grams of baking soda and salt; could not get consistent readings which forced me back to the old measuring spoons. Had I relied upon the scale, mission failure!Granted, weighing out 3 cups of flour that difference won't make or break that bakery treat you're attempting, but when it comes to weighing out small amounts a gram or more can make all the difference at times. So..... I wouldn't call this scale accurate, which that being what you'd like in a scale, I can't rate this very highAt first the odd batteries it requires didn't really bother me; I could put up with that but given the unit's not accurate, it's only adding insult to injury.2 stars because it stores easily and it's probably ok for larger weights, but not sensitive enough for finer measurements.UPDATE: Gotta give it to this company. After posting my updated review about the problems I was having with this scale, the company reached out and offered to send me a new one even though my warranty was past the year mark. I informed them I would be out of town for a couple of weeks and wouldn't be able to send back the problematic unit; they were fine with sending me out a new scale immediately and happy to wait till I returned to send in the original scale. Nicely done!!! The new scale seems to be working properly, thank goodness. Thanks Ozeri Kitchen!!!

Not a bad scale, but not ideal for coffee
I'm no pro coffee maker, but I do like to use recipes to make espresso through a Flair Neo, coffee through a V10, or whatever coffee/espresso comes out of an Aeropress. I also value consistent results. This scale just doesn't provide them for my needs. If I have a portafilter or some other sort of container atop the scale and add fresh grounds to it, it will often not update at all... then randomly overshoot the mark I was going for once it registers enough of a change. I'd argue that the scale base on this unit just doesn't pick up on small changes, which is a problem when you're looking to measure out only 10-20g of coffee. It might be a very good scale for measuring other things, but it simply isn't sensitive enough to handle coffee consistently. There are ways around it (such as tapping the scale and letting it come back to weight), but I don't fully trust it. The choice of batteries is a bit of a misstep as well, as they're expensive compared to AAAs in most scales, and there is no real warning that the batteries are going out. That said, the form factor is quite nice (and can slip out of the way easily) and it's hard to beat for the price. If you're looking for a pinpoint-accurate coffee gram scale, this one isn't it. But, if you're looking to measure heavier things (such as when baking and dolling out portions), it's likely plenty sufficient.

Drains batteries in no time
Love the size and finish of these scales. Bought in 2014 we've had some initial issues such as when stored the display turns on by mistake very easily which drains batteries in no time. It's now 2021 and the scale has given up fully, changing batteries won't help. Back unscrews so possibly fixable but we have a toddler and time is precious so will sadly buy a different model this time.

Very sleek and slick
Having had enough of Salter scales as they give up after a year or two I've decided to try a different make. I haven't had these for long but they've been put to very good use over the Christmas period.Initially we thought that the scales were not very well balanced but it turned out that we were pressing the 'buttons' far too hard and up-ending them! The scales require the lightest of touches to activate which is wonderful when you realise this!. The measurements are easy to change, resetting to zero is simple, and switching off is a matter of holding the power button for a couple of seconds if you don't want to wait for it to automatically switch off after a couple of minutes. The scales are easy to keep clean - just a simple wipe down, with no buttons to get clogged up with flour, water,etc..They also look very stylish; in fact they've been mistaken for a tablet on our kitchen work surface! So far I'm very impressed but only time will tell. For the money they are excellent value. Even if I have to replace them after a year or two I would choose these scales over any of my previous Salter sets. :)

PERFECT SCALE
I spent a lot of time choosing this scale and it has proved worthwhile. I like the tempered glass top where no bits of flour can get inside. The readout is very clear even with my large bread mixing bowl on it because of the long shape of the scale and the backlighting. It fits beautifully at the side of my utensil drawer and looks good when it's out on the kitchen top. Just hoping that I still feel the same 12 months hence.January 2015 - still happy with scale.

Ozeri digital scale
I have been after a digital scale for a while now and finally got around to choosing the Ozeri Touch Digital Scale after sifting through many reviews. I love it. Nice clear display - that turns off after a couple of minutes so as not to waste the batteries, but still leaving you enough time to weigh out ingredients without having to restart the scale Easy to use the tare function to add further ingredients without doing the maths and all the measures I need , grams, lbs/oz, fl oz.and Ml. It will measure down to 1 gram and comes with a substantial booklet to let you work out calorie values if you are on a diet. My only caveat it that even if you don't need your glasses to read the large clear digital readout, you might still need to wear them to make sure you do not try to weight things out on your I-pad, as this scale look very much like it :-)What more can you ask works well and looks good .

Great product
Perfect--exactly what I wanted--looks great in the kitchen -- looks like a mini ceramic hob !I was 80 last week and I love technology--especially when it is so simple to operate. The scales are so accurate. I can weigh straight into my Magimix food processor, adding the ingredients, pressing the tare button and adding all the remaining ingredient as I go along and saving on washing up.The price is unbelievably good too for such an immaculate piece of equipment. The illustrations on the website tell it like it is. It is so easy to clean with no corners to trap food. The digital display is very easy to read.I have already started recommending the scale to all my family.Thank you for introducing me to Ozeri.Sabina
