Ruined my fan module
Had this fan professionally installed at my local Chevy dealership and the fan kept shorting out the fuse which then eventually shorted out the module, my tech showed me the fan was putting out too much amps which kept shorting everything. Very disappointing ended up going with a different brand.

Perfect fit. Good quality.
Easy to install. Fits perfectly. Buy new wire clips from GM.

Works great, after some small modifications. (HALF-SHROUDED!)
The actual part is only half-shrouded, (like it appears on Dorman's site,) but that actually made it slightly easier to install on my Z51. I was able to angle it around the lower oil and transmission cooling lines, so I only had to remove the upper lines. I really doubt that only having a half-shroud will make a difference--since I've replaced my fan, my car maintains the same coolant temps it always has. My AC now works better than it ever has. Black car, 100ΒΊF+ Louisiana weather, full sunlight, and I actually found myself turning the thermostat up!There are a couple of problems:The motor wires are about an inch and a half too short. I had to trim away a bunch of plastic on the shroud and the connector to allow the wire to plug into the controller. It's still tighter than I'd like, but at least it's not being pulled taut across the sharp plastic. The channel the wire is meant to sit in is completely useless, and I had to cut the zip tie to get it out of there. The clip nut used to fasten the controller to the shroud is the wrong size (at least for my 2006 'vettte,) so make sure to save the one on your old shroud. The bolt isn't included, so make sure you save that, too!I'm still giving the fan assembly 3 stars, though, because it seems solidly built, other than the wire length issue, and because it's less than half the price of the AC Delco unit, (which is the only other brand I've heard of that makes these-- and I do a lot of auto work!)
