Works great. Don't waste money on less expensive knock-offs.
I replaced the old receivers on both of my gates with these and they work great. They have excellent reception range. My gates are almost 400 feet apart and sometimes my remote will trigger both at once.

Excellent Receiver
After thinking our control arm gave out I found that the wires on our original Mighty Mule receiver had rot and separated after 8 years. After reattaching the wires with connectors it worked again but only if we were within 10' of the receiver so I ordered this one and we have our 100' plus range back again. It took less than 5 minutes to hook it up and it's been working great. I highly recommend this receiver. I am very happy I decided to order it and even happier that we didn't have to purchase a new arm.

Compatible with 12 year old MM 500 opener
This new "narrow band" receiver is much smaller that the one included with my older MM 500 opener but it's definitely compatible. It also works with my original transmitters - FM134 and FM135. However, I had to return the receiver - twice. The first one didn't work unless the transmitter was about 2 inches from the receiver. The replacement worked better, but range was limited to about 10 feet - so I sent that one back, too. But I'm still giving the receiver 4 stars because it'll probably work great for almost everyone reading this review. My situation is unique because the Austin antenna farm (8 towers with almost all of our local TV and FM transmitters) is right across the street. The new NB receiver is more susceptible to "front end overload" (inability to reject extremely strong unwanted RF energy). The old receiver handled the overload problem much better so I repaired it (damaged in a storm). If your gate opener is located near FM or TV stations your range might be similarly reduced.Kudos to Amazon for allowing me to return both receivers.

Good stuff
It was important to have real OEM parts for my gate. This came fast, worked great and fixed my problem. Just be careful not to let it ever be mounted upside down because it does not have an appropriate IP rating and will be destroyed in the rain.

Great Reception
Began having problems with wireless functionality of gate. Remotes and wireless gate exit senor would only work sporadically. No error beeps or codes on board so determined it was probably the receiver. Since the old receiver was working some of the time I simply added this one in close proximity to the old one rather than replace the old. The result is that I have better functionality now then when first receiver was originally installed. Of course it may be that I have the new receiver in a better location than the old rather then the fact that there are now two receivers. Either way, I'm happy with the result.

Not a cure all.
This didn't really fix my problem and inquiries with Mighty Mule have gone unanswered. I was having trouble with the OE receiver not picking up the signal from the transmitter until I was almost right next to it. It wouldn't work from more than 20 feet away. It's a little better than the OE receiver, but not enough better to warrant having spent as much money on it as at cost. I suppose it you had diagnosed that the OE piece was dead, this would be a decent replacement, but as an upgrade, I am disappointed.

Item arrived in a timely fashion. Works as it ...
Item arrived in a timely fashion. Works as it should. I hadn't noticed how badly my old unit was working until it broke and I replaced with this one. Responds sooner and easier than the old one.Edit: 16 mos later I am having to replace item again. We use our gate multiple times a day; is this the best I can expect? 16 months??

This part number was recommended by GTO service tech but it did not last.
This antenna only lasted two months on my gate, and then failed. It was recommended by GTO rep. but failed after the 30 day warranty expired. Would not recommend this antenna,
