Excellent value
I've never owned a sander like this before so there was nothing to compare it to, however I have nothing but good to say about this unit. It take a little strength to use it, however, it is so much easier than sanding by hand that it only takes about ten minutes to do what use to take over an hour by hand. Dust control is excellent when hooked up to a shop vac, where is the only caveat comes in. It does not connect directly to the shop vac so I needed to make an adapter, a small inconvenience. You must use a bag in the shop vac however, as the filter will otherwise plug almost instantly. The finish it leaves is paint ready, with the exception of corners which would be an issue with any rotary sander. Because the work goes so quickly I don't have more than a few hours on the unit so cannot speak to durability. I would buy it again.

this unit beats 100% my original plan of hand sanding with good ol' elbow grease
I chose this drywall sander because it looked sturdier than other models plus had a higher power (800W), included the vacuum bag, had the adjustable feature, the LED light and most importantly, it used gearing instead of flexible cable drive to achieve the power transfer from the motor to the sanding disc. I got exactly what I expected. Of course all of that makes for a bit heavier assembly, but all things considered, for the daunting task of sanding my old plaster walls after doing almost full taping of the surface, this unit beats 100% my original plan of hand sanding with good ol' elbow grease. The only thing I couldn't figure out was a spring that's added on the motor housing that is not tied to anything. After deciphering the clearly "ESL" written English instruction I only found out what it was by carefully looking at the exploded view of the assembly. Even then though, I could not figure out why it was included and where it would tie to to provide said tension. That was a good 45 minutes wasted. Perhaps if this tension would be available it would eliminate some of the light shaking I experienced during my first attempts at sanding the wall, and maybe even lessen the physical strain in handling and controlling the unit against the wall. If only I could determine how to use this spring to stabilize the motor head a bit I could feel a bit less strained. In any case, the sander's speed and all other features above made it worth the extra bucks over other models, specially since I did not have to go by a shop vac to go with this task. Just set the bag around your shoulder and sand away. I'm pretty happy with this product, and hopefully it last throughout the entire duration of the project. I give the 4-star rating for lack of product documentation clarity, unclear functionality of the tensioner spring feature and perhaps because of this, the excessive shaking during initial operation.

An amazing piece of equipment
I have done drywall work for the last 20 years, never came across something like this me being a small shop. Recently purchased one to give it a try and I was very impressed how fast you can get things completed.Sanded about 500 Sf of ceiling in about 25min, granted all the setup was previously done. This unit requires a vacuum to be dust free, it is a must and it works great, literally no dust. The sanding disks looks like they are not available at the local stores so get a good stock around here. The motor after a few uses starts to smell funny (burnt plastic) which I feel is ok because you get your money back in the first couple of uses, seriously it cuts working & cleaning time by 80%. I forgot to mention that it has a nice LED lamp attached that can be adjusted to a certain extend.Still very happy with the equipment after 5 uses and still strong.A 5 star for me.Eric S.

You need to also buy a shop vac; this system's vacuum is effectively non-functiinal
Owner's manual is poorly written (asian influence, at times impossible to interpret). When unit arrived a spring was unattached on one end and dangling. I could not readilly determine where the other end should attach. There was no mention of the spring in the set up instructions nor was it obvious in the exploded view diagram (ultimately ran machine with it unattached). The sanding portion of the machine works well (be sure to order 225 mm sanding discs and not 6") but literally about 95% of the dust sanded fell to the floor; so poor was the vacuum suction. I took the head apart to make sure all the pieces were in fact there and working and they were, just poorly designed. The attached bag intended to catch the dust does not even inflate with air pressure from the machine.I purchased a separate shop vac and attached a long hose to this sanding machine and with this upgrade the set up worked great. I have mixed feelings about the placement of the LED light, the head seems to block it but I like that there is one on the machine. Handy feature that needs a little adjusting.Overall I like the machine but frankly it was not ready for release to the American market. If you are willing to purchase a separate vacuum system (which not only adds dollars to the investment but bulk to contend with), it is a decent machine for the niche market of drywall sanding.

Easy to assemble and use
I actually bought it to sand old varnish off old hardwood floors. I'm a 61 yr old woman, and thought to use it as an alternative to renting a floor sander so I can work at my own pace. It doesn't work as well as my 5"orbital hand sander, but I'm still experimenting with how much pressure to use. My hat is off to all you people who can lift this for drywall sanding. It seems to me to be heavy to lift for long!

Overheat and poor vacuum
I bought this sander for my little office renovation project. I was going to get it from HomeDepot but it would take weeks to get here. So, I decided to get it on Amazon. It arrived pretty quickly. I have to say that it looks great and decent after assembled. However, it starts getting hot pretty quickly and also comes with a burning smell. More importantly, the builtin vacuum barely sucks in any dust. I guess it requires an external vacuum to work.
