Cheers for Your Creative Work Space!!!
I've been a longtime follower of Desha on Instagram, so I jumped at the chance to pick up her new book! It does not disappoint! So many great ideas for utilizing the space you have and making it your own. Some of the studios are quite large but I love how Desha included a maker who literally turned her closet into her workspace! What an extra treat to get to peek into some of my favorite Instagrammers studios too. This book arrived at the perfect time as we are currently renovating the lower level of our home which is being converted into my art and metalsmith studio, and will shared with my young children. It's going to be a joy to create and run my business while having my kiddos close by. There are tips for creating kid's spaces which will come in handy when adding the finishing touches to their area as well. What a spectacular book release!!!

A guide to get you organized and centered in your space
What I love about this book is that it helped me identify my core needs to be creative and productive in my home office. Setting up an office and starting a fledgling business in 2020 felt daunting. It was helpful to look at the ways that other creatives use their creative spaces and to recognize that mine didn't have to be perfect, but should be tailored to my needs and personality. The author offers "style tips" throughout the book including a guide to setting up your desktop (bagua) which I didn't realize I needed help with until I read this chapter.

Ideas and inspiration for anyone who like to create!
I discovered this author after purchasing the June/July 2018 issue of Where Women Create. Desha Peacock's studio tour peaked my interest and her book was mentioned, so I purchased it, and I'm so glad I did. The book is filled with a variety of creatives whose work spaces/studios/offices are an inspiration. There are home spaces, lofts for personal and business, and spaces outside the traditional creative workspace. There is even a section on creating a space for your children! The articles are well written and give the reader an in-depth look into how creative people make use of their spaces, decorate, organize, and discover alternative purposes for ordinary finds. The photography is beautiful, you'd think you were actually part of the scene! I highly recommend this book! Buy it, you'll be glad you did!

A must have for all working creatives!
This is one of those books that you have to ration. Every page contains sage advice, lovely photos and inspiration for your own creative work space. As a designer who works from home, I've gotten a lot out of hearing the refreshingly honest stories of each artist featured - and found more than a few ideas to implement into my own space. This is a great book that applies to any stage of a creative endeavor.

What Naval-Gazing Looks Like
I expected a greater depth of information than this book delivered. It's light on usable advice, and is excessively self-indulgent and twee. Every space pictured looks a lot like every other space--there is precious little variation or insight. It seems more like a series of profiles of people whose styles happen to resonate with the author. As I read through the book I kept getting the feeling I was ready something written by the Parks and Rec character/Pawnee tastemaker Annabel Porter.

Great pics!
I felt Deesha’s previous book contained great content but dark and murky photos. I wonder if I got a bad copy? Anyway this new one gets the pics right! Inspired content.
