Q: Any tricks to get the flat edge not rippled?

Use enough fasteners and it will sit reasonably straight. I used SS panhead screws at 12" intervals. The sun will help, too.

Q: Could I install this around dock corners? How sharp will it bend?

It will bend around a sharp corner but the top will pinch up. You can carefully cut the inside web out and slice the top part where the screws go .This what I did and it turned out quite good.I didn't want to buy 8 corner pieces.

From the bottom of the edging to the top of the P Profile edging is between 3 to 3 1/2 Inches.
