Title appealed to me as a needle woman.

Within the first few pages I had identified the characters with the members of our groups. Enjoyable read, passed it on to a friend to read.

Birthday gift for a crafter, after reading good reviews of the book, was disappointed to hear my friend was struggling to read the book, found it very hard going.Not for everyone I guess.

A light hearted read with a character list of crafting fans in a variety of settings.As a crafter and past member of assorted groups I chose this hoping for a pleasant read.It was, pleasant, with oodles of kindness and friendship and a fairly convincing picture of craftinggroup activity and determination.Some of the writing was awkward and some of the characterisation lacked conviction, for me.A jolly romp to bring several smiles with a very accurate picture of how willing so many are to create for thebenefit of others whilst not wanting any personal reward.

It's been a long time since I read a novel that I found hard to put down, until I started reading The Crafternoon Sewcial Club. I am into my crafts & this is why it appealed to me me. However I also think the story would appeal to non-crafters. It was a lovely funny story. I even got the paperback(& the sequel) sent to my elderly mother who also enjoyed the story

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Being a crafter myself it really gripped me. By the end I wanted to knit squares to help their initiative Going to download the next book right now.

Very twee and middle class but a fairly good story with some valid points raised re the elderly becoming isolated and some funny bits along the way.Not sure if the author has ever actually been in a nursing home though as the majority of the residents in these places would not be able to do any of the activities described here.

I am sorry to say but it took me a while to read this book there was some good bits may be I will have to read it again before I get the next book
