The instructions are garbage. Go online and there is a guy showing how to use this tool exactly. It takes practice and after 4 disasters, I finally got the FG knot correct. Then another FG knot came out correctly. These are the last two FG knots I made with this device. And the FG knots are tight with no slipping at all. I also have the FG knot 2.0 device and it also works, however it takes about 3 times as long and the 2.0 assist device requires you to still hold multiple lines all at once along with holding the 2.0 tool. Look up online and take a look at the "SG Knot." I just saw it online and it looks comparible to the FG and easy to tie. Would I buy this FG knot assist device again? Yes, I would. Just understand there is a learning curve. I didn't get my first FG knot until my 4th attempt. Good luck. Oh, plus it takes a few weeks to get here on a slow boat from Asia.

The instructions are totally useless. Too small of pictures and directions keep talking of "wire" line. You are on your own in figuring out how to use this tool.

Junk with directions you can not understand

OK the other reviewers are correct, the directions don't offer any real help. Even with the you tube videos it takes some trials to get this down. I found the most important thing is after you put the leader into the top left section, when you put the leader into the lower section make sure that you push the line all the way down so that the tension holds the line tight. From this point it is simply putting the main line in the upper right side and let the machine wrap the main line over the leader. Watch the you tube videos and practice, it does work.
