works very well
Really surprised how much a timer switch cost, but does work extremely well and easy to wire up. Perfect to run a shop made air filtration for an hour after I leave the woodshop. This is for a 220

I'm off grid, don't like to waste energy
I like these manual switches. I turn on my compressor or heater or whatever, with a twist of the dial. I buy different timers, for different items. All of us have turned on a compressor, and forgotten to turn it off again, and have woken up in the middle of the night with it going off again. This stops that

Good timer for our A/C unit
It's a great single pole timer. Turn it, completes circuit; times up, it goes off. Simple and effective.

The cover plate isn't "brushed metal", its grey plastic
I had a 30 year old in the wall timer that stopped working. This one seemed to be nearly identical (except I went from an old 12 hour timer to this new 6 hour timer). The item functions properly, but the description is wrong. The cover plate is *not* brushed metal, it is grey plastic. My old 12 hour timer had a brushed metal cover plate, so I wanted the same for the replacement. Somewhat disappointed about this. And no, I cannot use my old cover plate because I changed from a 12 hour timer to a 6 hour timer (half the price - not sure why). One star deducted for the misleading description/title.

A good timer for hard wired devices or plug-in outlets. 6 hours is plenty for food warmers or even lighting to insure that they will be off after the need. It does have one issue I would prefer. It appears not to be able to turn the time back of over timing. It is a firm stop, so I did not try to force it. But it times perfectly for what ever time it is set. .

One of the more expensive mechanical timers but well worth it. I bought 2 of the lesser priced ones, each only lasted a year before breaking. This is replacing an older Intermatic timer that lasted 15 years. Hoping for another 10+ with this.
