Great 64 controller for MiSTer
I was chomping at the bit to play some N64 on MiSTer and this controller has been absolutely perfect. I've always hated the 64 controller but this solves literally all the problems I had. Highly recommend for the MiSTer! Comes with a wireless USB adapter which I'm using with fast poling on, and an adapter that allows you to use it wirelessly on your OG 64 too.

Happy with it
I was concerned my unit was defective out of the box. I tried everything I could think of and followed all the instructions to connect the controller the the wireless USB adapter. The instructions stated if all else fails, use a paper clip to press the device's reset button. Thankfully that worked. So far I have used it on a PC to play N64 games and the controls feel tight and responsive.

You have to tinker with it if you’re using it for switch but it works
This controller does work and the buttons and joystick feel a lot better compared to others I’ve used. Responsive, not chunky. I updated my firmware right away and the rumble works as it should.I’m using this to play NSO games, specifically Zelda 64 games which require the C Buttons.Out of the box the up and right C button are not active, this does not mean the controller is broken. To set it up you need to switch the controller to All Star mode, (Start + Right dpad for 5 seconds) after which it’ll seem like you’ve lost your B button. You haven’t, at least not for long. Go to System Settings > Controllers > Change Button Mapping. Map the X button to B and press done and it should work as the traditional 64 controller would. You’ll just have to remember to map it back again when playing games that are not 64 games. Also, if for some reason you have a Mac and not a PC. You can install a trial version of Parallels Windows 10 and use it to update the usb firmware which what I had to do, and it worked.

loved it UNTIL unusable lagginess after less than a month!
Man. I really loved this controller. I use it for the N64 online expansion pass through the Switch. I'm playing Majora's Mask right now. This was the only controller I could find that would let you use all the C buttons (which are needed throughout the game.) Albeit to have the full C button functionality, you have to have access to a computer so you can go to the Retro Bit website and update the firmware BUT I was happy. The controller feels awesome, nice but of heft in the hand. I had originally bought a couple of the USB plug in N64 old school controllers off Amazon but, despite what the manufacturer said, you could NOT get all the buttons necessary to work for the Zelda games. So, the battery life on these are amazing. In the month I've had them, only charged them the first time I opened them. Bluetooth range is excellent. BUT! And this is a HUGE but...after only one month of use (light use at that because I was working 7 days 15ish hours this whole month) there is1 A lag on the joystick. In addition, occasionally Link will just be stuck running around in circles regardless of what I do in the controller2. The b button just won't press half the time3. The A button only works half the timeI had super high hopes for these controllers. I only needed one but I bought two because they seemed pretty sweet and I thought it'd be good for Mario Party too but this issue makes it unusable now. I would've just returned one of them and tried again but apparently they only have a one month return window which I am two days past. With my very minimal usage, I am sure my other one won't last very long either but I am stuck with $100 worth of these so I just updated my other one and am hoping for the best. I could not recommend these to anyone which is such a bummer because they are beautiful and awesome in every other way but for it to "break" two days after I can't return it anymore is just a real let down.

Perfect for N64 accuracy on Switch and PC, probably N64 too.
Right off the bat, I'm unable to say how well this works on the Nintendo 64 console since I don't have one. My review focuses mainly on Nintendo Switch and PC for emulation, but I read functionality on N64 is top-notch as well. The control stick is buttery smooth. It physically feels like a modern stick, but it's not just like plugging in a modern controller. Deadzones and stick ranges are important, and the N64 stick deadzones are wonky and very incompatible with modern sticks. The Tribute64's stick felt the most accurate out of a handful of N64 controllers I've tried. Games control with an exquisite amount of precision like an original N64 stick, without the concern of it wearing down.Connecting this to PC and Nintendo Switch is easy. The latter being a great feature, since other N64 controllers are a hassle to connect to the Switch. Out of the box it offers a button layout compatible with Nintendo Switch Online, unlike other N64 pads that map the buttons to all the wrong places. Having a dedicated wireless dongle also gives you superior connectivity. One thing I should mention is I got the Atomic Purple version of the Tribute64 first. I was blown away with the ergonomics and the quality of the plastic. It's not quite Nintendium, but it felt very close as if Nintendo made these. Not to mention, it's gorgeous-looking. I later got the gray version and the plastic shell felt of slightly cheaper quality. Not sure if it was the color or that the plastic is more matte. In terms of the tactile feel, the shoulder buttons felt more mushy on the gray version, whereas they felt spot-on on the purple one. Also, the D-pad is not the greatest. Fortunately it's not an issue for like 98% of N64 games. It just means that there are better options for 2D platformers than the Tribute 64.It's not something that would make me return it, however. I'm more than satisfied with what this controller has offered for N64 games specifically.I've recommended this to friends and, like I mentioned, I got 2 of these for myself. So far this is the best third-party N64 controller... or at least the best control stick accurate to the original controller. People with large hands may find it uncomfortable. That among other things mean the Tribute64 is worthy of a revision, and while at first glance it may seem like a mixed bag, it's heavier on the positive side of things.

Best wireless with rumble on original console
Don't be fooled by other reviews. This is the best controller to play on the original console and also emulator.

Great retropie controller
So I brought this but fair warning I don't own an N64 anymore so can't comment on its ability on the N64 hardware. But I do use it on a raspberry pi4 setup with retropie and it's an absolute great controller. Had to change it to X input mode to run but there's simple keymaps on the label on the back of the controller. I setup the controls and mapping once, running the games using mupen64plus and it's very very close to the original N64 by my memory. The controls feel great and buttons are all nice. The d pad imo seems to suffer from slightly iffy inputs but nothing terrible, if I'm honest I only use the analogue stick for control. All in I'd really recommend this for N64 emulators. That it comes with a connector for the original hardware too is a nice bonus
