The Essential Middle Eastern Cookbook: Classic Recipes Made Easy

The recipes were okay and seem like a good introduction to Middle Eastern cooking but there were NO pictures…I had to goggle each recipe to see what the finished result was supposed to look like & when doing so discovered a lot of the recipes were different to the ones found online! Still yet to try but it’s given me some ideas nevertheless

If you are an avid Middle Eastern cook book collector, you will find nothing new. If you are looking for a diversified Middle Eastern cook book, covering many Middle Eastern countries, this book might be for you; although there are many other cook books better than this one. This book has a nice layout with nice pictures I would also say, that if you are looking for simpler recipes, you can find some here too. Although, I have found that if you want the true taste to the original recipe, you will need to find and use the original recipe and ingredients.

My favorite part about this cookbook is the introduction to the common spices used in middle Eastern cooking. The recipes are simple and basic, but a good starting point. Warning: the eggplant dip recipe fails to mention piercing the eggplant before baking. Both exploded in our oven after the prescribed baking time! Photos of every recipe would be helpful & enticing, along with hard binding & sturdier pages, even if the price were a bit higher.

Only made a handful of recipes so far but each one has been easy to follow and delicious!
