Yes, it works with Windows 11 and Debian Linux
I don't usually write product reviews but this BrosTrends wifi adaptor deserves one. I am assembling a new desktop computer to dual boot Win11 and Linux Debian. A new motherboard with a Wifi-7 chip on board. Works great for Win but no drivers available for Linux. Thus the need for a USB wifi adaptor. This is the fourth usb adaptor I purchased. The other three....no Linux drivers. So, I selected this AC5L adaptor because the description said it "works with Linux". If you are considering one of these because of the "works with Linux", go to BrosTrends website to verify that your particular Linux distribution is shown as compatible. Most are but there are some aren't yet compatible. As these drivers make it into more kernels, I believe more and more distributions will work with this adapter. So, I received this late Friday afternoon and began the installation and testing. Win11 setup was easy and it connected to my router. In Linux it was not immediately recognized. After doing all that I knew how to do, I decided to contact their Customer Service. This was about 10:00 pm Friday evening. I expected to get a response Monday or Tuesday. I got a response in about 10 minutes! I followed their instructions, we emailed back and forth a few times and by Saturday noon it was working just like I wanted. BrosTrend Customer Service is the best I have ever worked with. Now, for you guys who bought an 870e Crosshair Hero motherboard and are finding out the wifi-7 onboard will not work with Linux, this adapter is a nice workaround.By the way, my installation is working fine with Secure Boot and Fast Boot enabled.A big THANK YOU to the BrosTrend customer service team that helped me!

Works great on an RPI5
The RPI5 by itself does not seem to have a very good network interface. After trying to use an RPI5 to host some projects of mine, I noticed it was frequently down and unreachable. I narrowed this down to the fact my RPI was, for some reason, randomly disconnecting from my WiFi network and was getting stuck being unable to reconnect. So the two options here are either Ethernet or a WiFi adapter. Unfortunately, Ethernet is not available in my current setup, so I purchased this for its affordability and functionality. This WiFi adapter worked immediately upon plugging into my RPI5; no need to download drivers or anything. Since I’ve began using it a couple months ago (roughly 2-3 months), I’ve only ever experienced one disconnect, and it was when my WiFi went down temporarily rather than an issue with the adapter.Would highly recommend this. Works great!

Nice usb antenna does the job
Works great and easy to install the software. Have used with Debian 12 Linux desk top and laptop. Checked against a plug in usb antenna and this one had a stronger signal outside further away.

Works with Raspberry Pi Bookworm!
This is the second USB Wifi antenna that I have tried with Raspberry Pi Bookworm. The first one was not recognizedand trying to fine a compatible driver was useless. I returned the two that I had purchased. GOOD NEWS: This oneworks perfectly with Raspberry Pi Bookworm! I plugged it in, waited a few moments, checked lsusb and there it was!Using the command "nmcli dev wifi" showed over 20 neighboring hotspots! I usually only see maybe 5 at the most.I had ordered two and I will order some more. And yes, delivery was delayed, but worth the wait.

This USB Wi-Fi adapter did not work for me in GNU/Linux
WARNING! If you need an 802.11ac Wi-Fi adapter for use in a GNU/Linux distribution, this adapter may not work for you.I dual-boot Windows 11 with Linux Mint Debian Edition 5. My old USB adapter stopped working in LMDE so since this adapter claims compatibility with Linux on the Amazon website, I got it. It worked O.K. in Windows 11, but when I switched to LMDE, no joy. I bridged my old laptop PC to my desktop for temporary Internet connectivity and got, built, and installed the Linux driver this adapter needs from GitHub. To make things work in LMDE I had to disable Secure Boot. This is unacceptable. I enable Secure Boot for the added system security it offers. Much of the issue may be due to the driver's developer not including the MOK step that is needed for a driver to be signed with a security key so Secure Boot will recognize it as safe. As far as I know, no Linux driver came with this adapter on the accompanying disk. I could not find a Linux driver on the BrosTrend website. I finally returned it and got a different adapter.Your milage may vary. It did seem to work O.K. in Windows 11, but that is not why I got it. I do not like it when a product is not exactly as advertised. In my experience, this product is not as advertised, so buyer beware,My2Cents,Ernie

Easy installation usb Wi-Fi adapter
I dual-boot Linux Mint and Windows 11. This Wi-Fi adapter worked perfectly with Mint. No extra driver installation was needed. The Windows driver is downloadable from the website. A small cd is also included.
