Works Great
I use this to switch my cable tv box output and my Blu-Ray player output to my receiver. I've had poor luck with toslink switch boxes and I've heard horror stories about people damaging their devices optical input\output by unplugging and plugging in cables too often.I have yet to experience any audio cut outs or problems. It works just as good as if it were one cable.Since I only have two devices it is just as easy to go over and switch the cable as it is to switch the button on a switch box. I never have to unplug or plug a cable into any of my devices while switching as I leave the connector on the cable coming out of the input on my receiver(Home Theater System) and have separate cables coming out of my cable tv box and my blu-ray player. I just swap them as needed.

Inexpensive product performs great.
The ends snap in tightly and securely. Precisely constructed coupler! I ended up buying another 25 feet from BlueRigger to attach to my 50 foot and used this Cblwhl brand coupler and that was from 1 device into the wall up it, then up across the top of the attic, down inside another wall and around a corner to the 2nd device. The coupler is in the attic for easy access and cables are secured but loosely placed as to not have any undue stress on them or the coupler. This is important because temperature variations occur in my situation and the coupler is plastic. We will see how it holds up in the Summer heat, I have confidence it will perform well. I am very happy with the quality and the transaction.

Great little fiber optical cable connectors
These connectors allow two fiber optical cables to be connected. There appears to be a gold plated tube in the center of these connectors that the ends of the fiber optical cables slip into. The connector holds the end of one cable up next to the end of the other while blocking any light from entering the connector. There is nothing to interfere with the signal being relayed from the source to the receiver. The connector seems to hold each cable securely. I have five optical sources but my receiver only has three optical receptacles. I ordered a couple of these and a couple of extra cables in order to be able to easily and cheaply switch from one source to another without having to continually access the rear of my amplifier. The one that I am using works great.

Secure Fit....Ideal For Creating Long Optical Cables
I had been considering a purchase of a second home surround sound system that is equipped with an optical port. 2 HDTV's in one room. This coupler enabled me to create one long optical cable that serves both HDTV's using an optical splitter. The optical splitter is unreliable but the coupler connection is secure and reliable to build a long dedicated optical cable. Just have to swap out the optical plug on the surround sound bar but that beats spending another $500 on a second surround sound system. My optical cable is 18 ft long and can reach across a large room to service both HDTV's because of these optical couplers. Now I just need to locate an optical splitter that is reliable.

works great for extending toslink signals
Works exactly as advertised. I needed an extra 6 inches of toslink cable when connecting my flat panel TV to my A/V tuner digitally. I have my TV connected to both over the air signals and the cable box and it is part of an entertainment system with surround sound, so in order to hear dolby digital signals over the surround sound I had to connect the digital "out" from my TV to the digital "in" on my A/V tuner via toslink, well I have a 12 foot run of toslink cable in the wall to do this and came up short, these couplers did the trick and allowed me to put a jumper in to get that last 6 inches or so. Sound is great no problems.

This coupler stooped me from moving things around just so I could use TOSLINK.
So I recently started using digital optical audio cables with my PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 but encountered a small problem: my cords weren't long enough. Every time I wanted to play the PS2, I had to take it off of the bookshelf and move it closer to the receiver so I could use TOSLINK.I had extra cables lying around so instead of buying a whole new cable, I bought this coupler. It works perfectly! I can finally leave my PS2 on the shelf and still use digital audio! I highly recommend this if you need it for your sound system!

It works...
It works exactly as described. I have a Toslink cable going directly from my 5.1 stereo system to my LCD TV. I also have a Toslink cable running out of the back of my Playstation 3 (not plugged into anything). I keep this device on the end of my PS3's cable. When I want to use my stereo with my PS3, all I have to do is unplug the Toslink cable from the TV and into the coupler. I do not have to worry about getting behind my stereo (in a small, cramped space in my entertainment center) to unplug the Toslink cable ever again. This is a great little product.

Not sure if it works-read on
I bought these to extend the length of an optical cable. They fit perfectly and I could see the red light through the end of the cable but could not get it to work. I was attaching two 6 foot cables to make a total length of 12 feet. Research I did said that optical should be good for at least 15 feet but there is a limit. Seems that this reduced the signal just enough that my receiver could not decode the signal. I removed the second cable and it worked just fine. It may work fine on other equipment. These are worth a try if you need to extend the length but a longer cable may be a better solution.
