Birthday gift
5 stars, bought this for my niece for her birthday as something a little different, she absolutely loved it and the plants have grown so well! She loves taking care of the plants, watering and replanting once they grew to a particular size. Great variety and brilliant value for money. Comes packaged in a little bag which adds a nice touch. Would definately buy again

So far so good
Started 4 of mine off as soon as I bought the pack so a month ago or so and I'm very pleased. All are coming up nicely. I'm a beginner and it's so easy. Got plenty of seeds left too. Will last years.

Inexpensive but too much plastic for my liking
This is a very affordable beginners vegetable planting set that would be ideal for young children to get them started growing one year and paying close attention to the results. It comes with seeds for common things like carrots, broccoli and leeks, with a good range of seeds and excellent little compost pellets, which makes it really easy to get started. I'm not sure that it will be easy to grow all of these things to fruition, but the potential is there! My issue with the set is the prevalence of plastic - plastic tubs and plastic labels. They're all 'reusable', but in reality how many things like this are accumulating in our gardens and what's the point in calling them reusable when every set or purchase from the garden centre is likely to include more? The low price point is great for families, but at some point we'll need to acknowledge that all of our plastic comes with an environmental cost, and when it comes to enthusing children to care about nature (by growing veg!) I'd prefer to have a more expensive option that's plastic free.
