I had 3 colanders, 2 plastic and 1 large metal. I stored all 3 in a bottom cabinet and each time I needed one, I would have to bend over and pull the colander out of the cabinet. That really doesn't sound too hard, but it was a pain, especially when something had to be drained right away. I saw this colander and liked the way it fit right on the sink and if I wanted, I could just leave it there and it would always be available for draining pots, washing fruit etc. I bought the 6-quart size and it has been happily sitting on the sink or in the dish drainer waiting to fulfill any draining/straining needs that I might have. It's sturdy, fits over the sink very well with the handles that extend to fit, it cleans easily with the sink hose right there and I don't have to bend down to find the colander in the cabinet (especially helpful if bending your head down often makes you dizzy). I definitely recommend this colander if you spend time in the kitchen preparing meals. It's an attractive addition to my kitchen workhorses.

We have a very deep stainless steel farmhouse kitchen sink and this makes it so much easier to clean veggies when I am fixing various freezer meals!! Definitely a 5 star product for us!

Based off of the negative reviews I was reading, I was a little nervous, but this is a very good quality strainer. Stays above my sink and isn’t close to falling. The rubber part that stays on the counter is great. I feel confident that it can hold a lot of weight as well. As for cleaning, I just throw it in the dishwasher.

No more tipping over the round bowl shape colanders. I’m so happy with this extra large one that extends to fit over the sink. Something so simple yet helping with so many cooking dishes. Love it!

Fits perfectly over my sink, horizontal or vertical. Being the holes are small sometimes it's harder to clean seasoning out if it gets in it. But overall great

It fits nicely in my oversized sink. and it is easy to lift and empty. Overall, it is a practical and durable addition to my kitchen.

I always keep a boxed one on hand for quick gift giving - that's how much I love this thing! It's sturdy and versatile, with so many uses. We take it outside in the summer to harvest vegetables, since we can rinse them outside before the come in the house. We also use it as a dish strainer, setting on a rubber mat for the run off. Of course, when it comes to rinsing things like veggies in the sink, it fits perfectly and dries quickly. This one is a no brainer.

My husband does all of our cooking, and was in need of a new colander. We recently refreshed our kitchen, including new counters and an undermount sink. This works perfectly with our sink. It expands quite a bit, so probably would work with many sizes. It's well made and doesn't slip around. We also hang it on a vertical rack, and the top handle expands while hanging, but the lower one does not, which is good. We have washed it both by hand and in the dishwasher, with no issues, aside from the fact that it is quite large. As I said, my husbands does our cooking, and every since we got it, he continually tells me how much he loves it. So unless there are durability issues down the line, in which case I'll update my review, I highly recommend this.

The handles are quite flimsy and not as good as they used to be.. This won't last the test of time, but sadly its the only one out there.. sighs..
