45 minutes, easy assembly, heavy but good quality!
I read a lot of reviews so I was a little reluctant on the purchase of this king sized white headboard. However, I am 100% satisfied with the product so I thought I would share my experience. Shipping was faster than anticipated and thankfully no damage done in the process. All parts included and as described, as noted in other reviews no stickers explaining what was what but that was completely ok by me as it was very easy for me to figure out. This was much easier to put together than I thought it would be. It was also build a lot more sturdy and intuitively than others described. I do not think it will fall apart in the future and it could be disassembled if totally necessary. I do not own the matching bed frame that must be purchased separately. I have a homemade 3 drawer shelving unit with a piece of plywood holding up my king sized mattress. It's the purple mattress (don't recommend it but stuck with it) no box spring, sits a bit lower than most beds. This headboard was the perfect height for my situation, I could see others saying its a bit short but my biggest fear, the front board behind the pillow line was safe, it is long enough to keep pillows from falling through the back. That would have ticked me off and I would have had to add some white board below to remedy the prob. The shelfs are slightly weird for the size items I want to store but I am satisfied with them regardless as I have wanted shelfs behind the bed for YEARS now. I even drilled to holes into the bottom of the shelf, one on left and one on right side just big enough for an extension cord, now hubby and I both have power strips for chargers and such. Kudos to the guy who installed an actually power outlet/ box into the unit. I aspire to be that savvy someday. Wood is thick and though its laminate it has a nice finish. Top piece of molding makes it look sharp and not cheap. I do have base boards but mine didn't really get in the way of the headboard against the wall. I liked someones suggestion of using some felt pads to balance out the issue if it was to arise. It took me and my hubs a whopping 45 minutes to put this together! Not bad when I had read others spent up to three hours... not sure how that would even be possible but very happy it was a simple and enjoyable project for us. Directions are lacking in detail but if you have done similar projects I say follow your instincts and be sure to examine what pieces go where prior to assembling. Remember you are building it rough edge up. And that the top of the long piece for the head board as well as the two side pieces will be covered once you add molding at the final steps. I read the entire directions prior to starting and that made the project more clear. Good luck!

A good assembly experience
My wife and I just finished assembling the headboard. We worked together and we finished it after about four and a half hours of assembly. It should be noted that we are cautious, slow, and old. (I am eighty-one years old.) The details of our adventure are below. The box arrived and showed no damage. We opened it and were pleasantly surprised at how well it was packed. It would seem impossible for the pieces to be damaged unless someone ran over it with a forklift or dropped something quite heavy on top of the box.On top of the packed pieces was an assembly booklet. Illustrations were very good and easy to picture. It began with a list of parts that included name, part number, and quantity for each part. It would have been helpful if each part would have had a sticker on it with name and/or part number. However, the illustrations were good enough that it could be deduced as to the name of each part. There are only fourteen individual parts. My wife and I took out each part and examined each for any damages. All were in good condition. As we unpacked each part, we put a post-it on it with its name and number. The hardware (bolts, dowels, and inserts) were all together in a bag. We counted how many of each was there and compared it to the quantities given in the list of materials. All were present with one variation. One insert was listed as having a quantity of fifteen. We had a total of sixteen. If we had assembled the entire structure and had one left over we would likely have assumed we had made an error in putting it together. However, the extra would have been good to have if we had lost one of the inserts. As to quality: all holes were present, sized correctly, and lined up perfectly when mating parts were put together. The laminate on the “engineered” wood showed no blemishes. Each piece part fit together well. I thought the engineering and manufacturing were excellent. The product is not a show-stopper in appearance but it fit our needs perfectly. Apparently, in our area, free-standing headboards are almost non-existent. For us, the product is a bit heavy and cumbersome and it should NOT be drug across the floor. It must be picked up completely to be moved. We knew this when we ordered it and decided ahead of time that we could live with that drawback. We can.Our experience has been flawless and we recommend it without reservation.

great looking headboard!
My wife and I had been looking for a bookcase headboard, in a cherry finish, for quite awhile in furniture stores and elsewhere. We had pretty much given up on it until we came across this one through Amazon! It arrived by FedEx at our home, in excellent condition, after only 4 days! It was easy to assemble with the manual included and we've been really happy! It looks great in our room with other pieces that we already had; it is sturdy and well-worth the amount we paid for it.!
