Arrowhead PK8008 Replacement Stem for 8-Inch 450 and 480 Series FF Hydrants, 12-Inch Total Length

I have two of these now that dont fit on my water spout, I cant find the right one.

Tried canceling because item description was faulty. Returned on receipt!

Never assume what version of the stem you have. Always take the existing one out and measure all of the dimensions. I'd replaced one a few years ago and was going to assume that the one that was now leaking would have been the same; but they were different lengths and different models. Yes, it was a pain to take the bad one out only to put it back until the new stem showed up, but the new one was an exact fit for the old one. The stems do NOT ship with a handle. Do NOT assume the old handle or screw will fit the new stem. I needed a different screw with the new stem, though the old handle fit fine.

As was stated in many previous reviews it does not fit an older series 480 hydrant as sold. In my case, as in others, I had to do considerable grinding of the corners on the square brass end to make it fit in the hydrant. Once that was done it fit fine and worked perfectly and solved my leaky hydrant before winter. This was a much better option for me than changing the hydrant because a previous remodel in my home had built a wall around the hydrant in the house.

This kit includes all the internal parts for repairing an older, outdoor sillcock. As long as your valve handle and packing nut are intact and still work, this kit should be all that's required for a straight-forward, quick repair job. This is especially useful if your original stem assembly has become bent after however many years since it was installed.One thing to keep in mind when shopping for these parts: the measurement listed (in this case, 8 inches) only measures the actual brass stem. Everything on the front, where the packing nut and the handle connect, is not included in that 8 inch length measurement (total length of 10 inches). Make sure you measure your existing stem (brass only) and use that when shopping for your parts.The kit was mailed to me in a plastic tube, with short printed instructions included inside, and completely assembled (this may vary, seller to seller). If you are like me and dealing with a very antiquated plumbing setup, your existing parts might be very loose and the stem may be in pieces; my replacement kit was snug and firmly assembled right out of the package and ready to use.Hope that was useful and good luck with your home improvements!

Perfect fit and repaired my Arrow outdoor faucet. Fair price and awesome product.

The part did not fit. Where it screwed into the faucet,the Dia was smaller than the original. When I ordered it there was no information about the thread Dia. I assumed it would be the same. It was the right length but the end plate that holds the seal rubber washer was to big to fit into the faucet. No enough information to order the right part.

The Square piece at the end of the rod that holds the washer was to big and would not slide into the faucet. Did not want to send it back and try to find another one so I ground it down on my grinder down to the right size and then it worked great
