This distribution tool is well engineered and precision constructed. I’m impressed with the value compared to similar “budget” distribution tools. The stainless surface is polished and coffee grounds do not stick to it. The adjustment mechanism is ratcheted and adjusts in fine increments easily. The aluminum and wood body feels great in the hand and has a premium feel. This tool works exceedingly well at what it is designed to do and looks great too.

I returned mine. There were two issues.It feels loose in the hand because the adjustment mechanism is spring loaded and does not tighten. This feature would be great, if you need to constantly change the depth, because you can adjust it without loosening it first.Also, because of the wedge design, it does not sit on the table flat, so it looks bad to me. I could have made something to hold it but I would not have been able to fix the feel of it.There was one more small issue, and that was the black anodizing. It looks good when new but may look worn over time. Especially because of the knurling of the grip area. The knurling is great but it makes the anodizing vulnerable on the high spots.I replaced this with a La Marzocco (BT Wedge) distributor that was 3X the price. It has a similar design with silver anodization and an adjustment mechanism that tightens. So... I think this leveler is a good value.

This coffee tamper feels great in the hand with an adjustable for how much you want to put in and also it has a nice wood top to it and the sides have a nice grip. The metal is has a design that is very easy in your hand and it’s got nice way to it too, high-quality on a recommended

Does a good job. Only flaw is the wood. There’s a discoloration (faded) look on it. But for the price I will buy again. Easy calibration as well.

I've used this distribution tool for about a year, along with 2 others that I purchased from Amazon (Apexstone is the one I've used the most). I have not used St Anthony's or other high end ones, and, after using this one, I don't see the point. This tool is one of my favorite parts of my morning routine. It is very robust (and quite heavy), seems very high quality, adjusts easily (well engineered) and distributes my espresso quite well in my IMS baskets. Perhaps most enjoyably, the ergonomics are amazing. In fact, I recently had a guest over for a few days who was making espresso on my machine, and he commented that this distribution tool was by far his favorite of all of my tools (including Italian tamper, WDT tool, etc). Don't think twice: buy this distribution tool - you won't look back.

There is a gap in the part where the tool is turned. The part that came out doesn't go back in.

The media could not be loaded. The wood and metal accent is pleasing to the eyes not to mention how great the quality of materials and the output - this evenly distributes and leaves the puck so flat there’s no need for a tamper.

Using my budget 58mm coffee distributor that I bought on Amazon I always had grounds accumulate around the ridge that I had to clean out with a brush. To my surprise this distributor did not have the same problem. I used calipers and measured it to 58.4 which does not allow grounds in the ridge. As mentioned by others it has step adjustments making it very easy to calibrate. This distributor is worth every penny.
