My dad recently became wheelchair-bound, and the concrete step in his garage, which is the only way we can get him in and out of the house, was killing my back, my dad's hands (because he had to help me by gripping the wheels and pulling), and the foot rests of the w/c (because the step would scrape the bottoms when the w/c came down). This durable, heavy-duty portable ramp is the perfect size, and has made transporting my dad to and from the house and the car SO MUCH EASIER. The woman from the VA who came to do the home assessment told me I'd done well. The VA won't reimburse me for the ramp, but I don't care; it's the best money I've spent on an assistive device. Highly recommend.

I had no idea how much I NEEDED this until it arrived! I've used a walker for years and we just bought a onestory home. Due to the yard settling, there is some area that gaps where my wheels go. My son found this and suggested we buy it, the price was so affordable compared to others. It came quickly and it works great! I can see how easy it will be to sweep off or possibly wash when needed. Since I laid it in place, it has notmoved a spec. I will be ordering a 2nd one soon for my step up in the garage area!

When this arrived, the UPS man told me, "It's too heavy for you to carry," and I assured him I was going to use it right there on my front porch. Once I got the plastic covering off it, I slid it into place and it fits flush to my wooden threshold now that I've removed the metal plating from having had a screen door installed years ago.Now that I'm in my mid-sixties, I don't need anyone spraining an ankle (myself or friends) stepping on or down from my threshold, so I'm "safety proofing" and with this friends with walkers will have an easier time coming in and out, as will any ambulance gurney if I have to go to the hospital.I am in the process of opening my home up to the "empty nesters" older singles group in my church for social activities and this will make it easier for those with canes and walkers to come into my front door without any risk of falling or slipping.The heavy rubber smell lasted on my cover front porch for about 2 weeks; after that, it suddenly decreased sharply to the point where I couldn't detect its smell any longer, even on a 100F day. I hope this helps those who are upset about the smell. The first time that I cleaned it, I did wipe it down with straight white vinegar, which no doubt helped with the smell as well, rather than mixing the vinegar with water, and wiped it dry so there would be no excess left on the rubber mat.Best buy of 2024. I bought a mobile scooter and the sidewalk near our condo has a 2” drop. This worked perfectly so far but when it came visitors and neighbors complained of the strong smell of rubber. Think nature has reduced that as no longer an issue. When it comes, very heavy, unpack it and get it away from the house until a few rains. 36” width is great for my scooter.

The ramp is well built and is heavy duty and in that category, it gets a five star. However, since it is made of recycled rubber, the smell is intolerable, hence the one star rating. None of the methods people have posted online to eliminate the odor worked. I even kept it outdoor under the SoCal sun for months, but no change in the severity of the odor. I bought it to use indoor, but the odor has made it impossible. The smell is not like a new tire smell. It smells like toxic chemicals! Yikes! Trust me, do NOT buy this for indoor use. Even outdoor, you can smell it within a 10-ft radius or more. It is that strong! Now I am trying to find if any other manufacturers make a similar product, but with virgin rubber. I don't mind paying a little more, but without the horrible smell!

Got this for my garage going into the house to eliminate me always tripping over the cement step. Worked like a charm.

It’s a good threshold, does the job but still smells like rubber several weeks later. I had it out on the deck for a while hoping that the strong smell will dissipate but it still smells now as it is inside.
