Tips For Giving Old Desktops A New Life!
Installed on 10 year old desktop, a Dell Dimension 9200. Ordered this on Wednesday March 29, and arrived on Friday the 31st. So shipping was great. The price I paid was $12, which is a good deal. The computer accepted it. I didn't have to install any drivers, it's working great so far.Now for tips:1) Take out that dusty old desktop, or laptop collection dust somewhere around your house. Wipe off whatever old operating system you have on it. Install Windows 10 (Windows offers for free download as .iso file). Windows 10 runs very light, lean, and everything is "Plug N Play", no need to search for drivers.2) Boost that old computer with more capacity ram like I did. First search your computer info online, to see the max RAM it's capable of accepting. I searched my Dell Dimension 9200, and people wrote online that the highest I can go is 4GB.3) If your old computer turns on to a black screen, like mine did initially. Take out the RAM, clean the terminals with a clean cloth, and reinsert. That's it! Mine has been starting up, and functioning perfect. I got this solution from searching online, so I will give a shoutout to BEV from "Dell online message boards".

Good match for HP PCm7170n
Replaced my 4 factory 512MB memory modules with these and gave new life to my old HP m7170n Media Center PC, running XP. Not an easy install by any means (had to take out the CPU module) but worth the effort. Besides the CPU was dust clogged and now the PC is running cooler with less fan activity. The memory was recognized immediately and no tweaks were needed. Very happy. And the price couldn't be beat. Loaded Win 7 and it works like a charm. Looks like I'll get 2 or 3 more years out of this machine now.

which worked great. Pleasantly surprised to find these kits at such ...
Purchased a number of these for several old Dell Optiplex GX620 Small Form Factor PCs we had sitting around. They're running Windows 7 and will simply be used by folks in field offices for browsing the internet, logging into HR sites to input hours, and reading the occasional PDF and/or Office document; no heavy lifting. Being an extremely small PC (external power supply) they only have two slots for memory. They each had 2 x .5 GB sticks, which would actually load Win7, but was very slow. I bought a couple 2 GB and 4 GB kits from Komputerbay and put 3GB in each PC, which worked great. Pleasantly surprised to find these kits at such a reasonable price and shipped quickly.

additional memory didn't work in our PC
I have an ACER ASE380 D421A with 2GB ram running Vista. I purchased these two additional 1GB memory cards to be placed into the two remaining memory slots in the desktop chassis. After installing them, the monitor displayed only a thin line of blank and white "snow" at the top. When I removed them, the computer worked fine again.I then replaced the computer's original 2GB memeory cards with the new ones, and the computer worked fine. I then installed the computer's original memeory cards in the empty slots. This time the computer booted up with Windows, but there were many problems running applications (such as Internet Explorer), where the application had to be restarted. I removed the old memory from the additional two slots, and the computer works fine again.I'm guessing there is something wrong with my computer's mother board, rather than with the purchased memory. But in summary the purchase was a bust.

I Know Nothing
The memory cards were purchased based on the recommendation of my computer guy, a former fellow employee and the computer expert at my former place of employment. The computer guy was doing an upgrade on my 8 year old Dell desktop with only 1 GB of memory, a Demension E310, from XP to Vista using a ten year old Vista upgrade from XP disk which was received with a Dell laptop, but was never used. I followed his instructions to purchase these cards because I had no clue as to what was needed and trusted his directions completely. HIs theory was that all memory chips are about the same with only price being the determining factor on which to make a purchase. Based on the end result, his theory was correct. The computer is functioning just fine until Microsoft pulls the rug out from under Vista as they did with XP:-).

This is legit, good quality, great price
I didn't know how much this would help. My computer is a 2007 HP pavilion, so i thought it might make a slight difference, but wasn't sure my computer had much capability left to take advantage of. I went from 2GB to 4GB and it made a HUGE difference. It works great, started right up. No problems. been running about 2 months. would buy this product again if I needed more. Windows loads in about 30 seconds from power up, which is a huge step up. Not to mention, once it opens, I can run applications sooner. Before, it would load, so i would click programs, but they would take forever to open. Now it just goes! yay for RAM! good job Komputerbay
