Not a well-written "for dummies" introduction
This book is jam-packed with information and the author is evidently very knowledgeable. I give it 2 stars because I was really disappointed that it is not written for true no background people. A lot of jargon is used and it is questionnable that it needs to be introduced so early and profusely and frequently without explanation. The big picture is lost in numerous documentary sidetrips. This is probably a great book for those who already have background in trading, but is challenging to read for anyone who does not.

Your Essential Guide to Currency Trading: Currency Trading For Dummies
If you're a novice looking to dip your toes into the exciting yet complex world of currency trading, "Currency Trading For Dummies" by Kathleen Brooks and Brian Dolan is a fantastic starting point. This comprehensive guide takes the often intimidating and convoluted realm of foreign exchange (Forex) and simplifies it in a way that's accessible to beginners. The hallmark of the "For Dummies" series is its ability to break down intricate topics into easily digestible portions, and this book is no exception. It starts with the absolute basics, assuming no prior knowledge, and gradually builds up your understanding of Forex trading. The authors have a knack for explaining complex concepts with clarity and simplicity, making it an ideal resource for those who are just beginning their trading journey. One of the strengths of this book is its hands-on approach. It doesn't just inundate you with theory; it provides practical insights into how to get started with currency trading. From setting up your trading account to understanding currency pairs, technical analysis, and risk management, the book covers a broad spectrum of topics. It also introduces you to various trading strategies and tools, allowing you to explore what suits your trading style best. The authors also provide real-world examples and case studies, which help in illustrating key concepts and demonstrating how to apply them in practice. These real-life scenarios add depth to the book and give you a sense of what to expect in the unpredictable world of Forex trading. One aspect that sets "Currency Trading For Dummies" apart is its focus on risk management. It emphasizes the importance of protecting your capital and provides practical advice on how to do so. This attention to risk is a crucial aspect of successful trading and often overlooked in other introductory trading books. However, it's worth noting that while this book provides an excellent foundation for beginners, it may leave more experienced traders wanting more in-depth and advanced strategies. For those looking to dive deeper into Forex trading, supplemental reading may be necessary. In conclusion, "Currency Trading For Dummies" is a solid resource for anyone looking to venture into the world of Forex trading. It equips you with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to get started, all presented in an approachable and engaging manner. While it may not be the ultimate guide for advanced traders, it serves its purpose exceptionally well as a starting point for beginners. If you're serious about understanding currency trading, this book is a worthy investment in your financial education.

Currency Trading 4th Edition - Kindle ebook
Liked the format "for Dummies", the easy way to learn from it... I would like Audible version being available together with my purchase, but I have to pay separately for that!!!

3rd edition is better
Got the 3rd edition thought i'd lost it. So went to purchase again and noticed the 4th edition and purchased that thinking this would be better. They've dropped a few chapters and added others. The stuff they've added IMO are fairly irrelevant to understanding how to trade currencies. One new chapter talks entirely about taxes 'Tax Considerations' talks about once you've made some money how and why you could be paying tax on it.Again IMO this is an irrelevant chapter and teaches you nothing on how to trade the markets. Whereas the chapters in the 3rd edition 'Training and preparing for battle' 'Identifying Trade Opportunities' and Risk-Management Considerations' are entireley relevant to understanding the mindset of trading. These 3 chapters were in Part 3 of the 3rd edition 'Developing a Trading Plan' This whole 4 chapter section has been dropped apart from one chapter which was stuffed in a previous section. Even this moving of this one chapter has pushed out one chapter from that section 'Understanding and Applying Market News and Information' which has also been dropped from the 4th edition. The new section in the 4th edition 'Forex Alternatives' IMO also adds no real knowledge to the beginning trader when compared to the chapters dropped. My opinion buy the 3rd edition
