Toro53764 1-Inch Anti-Siphon Jar Top Uderground Sprinkler System Valve With Flow Control

I purchased this valve for parts. My sprinkler system is about 7 years old and 1 valve failed. Toro doesn't sell the part I needed, so this was the easy fix. Part was just what I needed and fixed the problem in 5 minutes. I also have other spare parts if another fails. Shipping was quick and free, which made it even better. Over all the valve works as promised. I just wish Toro sold all the internal parts, so I wouldn't have to spend $15 to fix a part that would cost 50 cents.

This is the third time I purchased this, guess I got away with this the first time. I was having trouble with the male pipe thread going in. Real frustrating, contacted Toro Support. Seems like the male pipe thread should be tapered, and the valve is designed this way. All makes sense but the readily available adapters even the one suggested by Amazon are straight thread which will not work properly. I could get it to work on the anti-siphon side. Went to a local sprinkler supply store and got some that work fine. The symptoms are that the pipe thread would start for about a thread or two then get real tight. When I got the correct fitting it went well, after putting on the tape the fitting snugged up real close to the valve. Still waiting to test with pressure but I think it will work. The problem is not really the Toro valve but they could make it easier. I suggested to their support that maybe they could supply a set of the correct fittings and a big warning so the user is not guessing what is wrong.

product was what I needed to repair sprinkler system. easy to install. saved money doing it myself.

Replaced an older black Toro valve however the mounting distance apart is about 1/2" wider on this one. Solution was to use two 22.5 deg couplers on one side back-to-back to reduce the width to fit the older 3/4" PVC pipes coming out of the ground. Took a while to figure it out but turned out to be a good solution. Great valve by the way....

Had to replace a 13 yr. old valve that wore out. No problem taking the old one out with recriprocating saw and glueing on the new valve.
