there are 6 in the set, the magnet is in the "feet" or ends of the horseshoe so they do not have magnet all through the round part. I am very happy with the set I have.

Would these stick to a magnetic wall?

Yes, but it depends on how strong the magnetic pull is. These magnets are pretty heavy and when I put them on my fridge they slowly slide down to the floor.
